Yes! I've been wondering if discovery fiction (in the sense of @michael_nielsen) and open-exposition problems (as introduced by Timothy Chow) might start to receive greater attention. It's also interesting to consider how AI might assist in these more subjective areas.
Why am I excited about math formalization with AI assistance? Paradoxically, it might free up human time and exposition space for some more human, softer and often neglected aspects of mathematics - intuition, storytelling, experimentation, etc. (From arxiv.org/pdf/2603.26524)

📢Stunning math & AI update "I still did not see how to prove this inequality, but I decided to try my luck giving it to ChatGPT Pro, which... gave me a duality-based proof..."—Terence Tao (3/23/26) How Fields medalist Tao used AI in his latest work: terrytao.wordpress.com/2026/…

Triangulation provides a short, general proof, no? Connect a pair of opposite vertices with a diagonal, creating two triangles with parallel bases of lengths b_1 and b_2 (by def. of trapezoid) and the same height h (the height of the trapezoid). Sum areas (1/2) b_i h.

Big thanks to @lavrton for the initial spark. Also drawing inspiration from the accessible explanations of @redblobgames, the visual creativity of @matthen2, and @davepvm's accessible p5 WebGL designs. cc: @robpenner, @jcponcemath

I just released WebGL2 & GLSL: A zero-to-hero guide. It’s a full curriculum for internalizing the graphics pipeline—not just copy-pasting code. It uses spaced repetition to guide you from a blank canvas to building a minimal 3D engine from scratch. 🧵👇 github.com/GregStanton/webgl…

Hot take on AI in math education: Even if the potential is astronomical (one-on-one tutor for all, solving Bloom's 2 sigma problem), it won't be realized if we don't teach students to ask the important questions.

You may be interested in insulin pumps (fluidics) and diabetes ed. for patients (llms). Not sure where you are w/ Math Academy, but the control-engineering aspect of insulin delivery is also interesting and important (calc, lin alg, ODEs; maybe complex vars, prob & stats).

Nice application of linear programming to improve harvesting of drinking water! Even uses a reduced 2D linear program, perfect for teaching. One axis for mass of each candidate material. Solution is best combination, subject to min water delivery constraints. #math #iteachmath
🥤"Optimizing mixtures of metal–organic frameworks for robust and bespoke passive atmospheric water harvesting" by C. Harriman, Q. Ke, T. Vlugt, A. Howarth, C. Simon. feedback welcome on our new preprint! 💡the key idea is to optimize the composition of *mixtures* of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to comprise the adsorbent bed of a passive atmospheric water harvester. with a mixture, each MOF can specialize in delivering water under different conditions. we frame a linear program for the optimal design of the composition of the MOF adsorbent bed that is: (1) bespoke, i.e., tailored to a declared geographic region and time frame and (2) robust, i.e. satisfies minimum daily water delivery requirements despite variance in weather. both weather data and MOF water adsorption data are inputs to our optimization problem.

Very cool🧵here about a cutting-edge application of topology to drug discovery! Great example of fundamental mathematical modeling principles, including the use of simplifying assumptions: "If you forget the chemical information for a second," we're sort of left with... this?
Among the most common questions that I get from data scientists is "Are there any compelling applications of Topological Data Analysis?" The answer is yes, with high multiplicity. Would you like to see a brand new one? 1/

Like math and want to learn computer programming? Want to give the gift of learning? I've developed "Programming for math learners," a short course for small groups. It's for educators too! It covers all programming fundamentals through fun math problems and projects...

Her treatment of power series puts modern textbooks to shame! The motivation is so simple: power series are to algebra what decimal expansions are to arithmetic. I will be shouting this from the rooftops as soon as I find the time :)

Want to join my learning group? We have math/CS backgrounds. We're making reveal.js slides + Anki cards on the irreducible minimum of algorithms, for programmers and math learners. Have wanted to do that for a while. But then we're planning to work toward building an LLM.

Hi! I just saw this cool page of yours: n1ckfg.github.io/SixFeatures… I'm actually working on a YouTube course ("Programming for math learners") w/ a similar focus: 1. variables 2. data types & structures (arrays) 3. control flow (conditionals & loops) 4. functions 5. (maybe) scope

That's it for today's lesson! For me, this is a fun way to learn a new technology that will help me make new contributions to @p5xjs, and ultimately to Mathemagical.js (github.com/Mathemagical-Comm…). Thanks for reading. If you have any feedback, let me know!

Q: What does a fragment shader do? A: It computes pixel colors. (It does this for each pixel in the geometric primitive being drawn.)

Q: What does a vertex shader do? A: It computes vertex positions. (These determine where geometric primitives are rendered on the screen.)
