I think bandai figured out a while ago that they shouldn't build color identities around keywords, and now they're building them around methods of interaction. Every color will do everything but HOW they do it will differ. Way easier to design by vibe that way lol

Does this effect apply to characters that hit the field after it's played? Ie if you bring something out on trigger on opponent's turn, then they rest it and attack it, is it immune? I'm assuming no, similar to OP04 sabo effect?

Real reason Bandai banned Mihawk is cuz he upstaged all of OP17 and threatened to do the same for every set after. Now Rocks will be the OP13 Imu v2 he was designed to be.
See a lot of discourse towards the opposite so maybe thisll be a "hot take". Last time I made one of these thinkpieces before playing any games of a formats I said luna was a bad card:
Dont think people are prepared for how insane rocks kit is.
At every stage of the game he will be out statting you and out valuing you.
We already lived in a world where rocks had monster stats despite:
A. Vast majority of the best players in the world didnt play the deck
B. A huge percentage of top players were playing the deck that beat rocks 80/20
I am skeptical anyone besides bluffy will be able to keep up. Theres some hype of "lets try the other slash leaders!" but im pretty sure without playing a single game those decks just traded one slash leader that gatekept them for another.
