You gotta fall in love with the incremental progress man.
Fitness, skincare, learning a skill, decorating your living space. It's all about compounding that 1%

as someone with a crippling fear of starting something new, this is very reassuring!

i wish we had a place like this, for meetups, dates and hangouts, instead of overpriced cafes

This right here and why web3Lagos was such a let-down for me last year.
Yes I agree but don’t make the mistake of choosing one when you can be part of both. Crypto gets a bad rap because conversations about it esp on Naija Twitter rarely go beyond its price and how to make quick money. Read the Bitcoin white paper and you’ll see there’s much more to crypto than some of the pathetic discourse we see online.
Bonus reading: decentralization, privacy, tokenization and RWAs
Young people have no reason to pledge allegiance to a single asset class. You need to understand them all.

One of the things I fear about +234 is that, no matter how powerful you are, someone somewhere is more powerful than you and can take from you, and you won't get justice. Many people love places like this until it no longer works for them.
At the core of a working society is a justice system that works.

there's this old story someone shared at work on Slack about a man who wrote to GM that his new pontiac refuses to start anytime he buys vanilla ice cream. chocolate, strawberry, any other flavour, the car starts fine. vanilla? dead.
they sent an engineer who thought it was nonsense, went with him for a few nights, and gbam, vanilla night, car did not start.
turns out vanilla was the most popular flavour so the shop kept it right at the front. he'd be in and out in minutes and the engine never had time to cool down, so it vapour-locked. every other flavour took longer, enough time for the car to recover.
it was never the vanilla 😭
that's exactly me and my parents' house. I always thought I felt better in Ibadan because of home cooking and peace of mind. meanwhile, I was just finally getting a break from the thing that was making me sick.
how many vanilla ice creams are you blaming in your life?
every area that has flooded even if just once also falls in this category by the way.
if you are not living in a well aerated space in places like Magodo, Ojodu, Ogba, Omole, Ikeja GRA, Ipaja, Egbeda, Ikorodu, basically anywhere that gives ori-oke vibes, you are probably dying inside everyday.
the thing that has been saving me all year is visiting my parents and hosting programs in Ibadan. for the first time, I delayed my regular trip back home because I had a lot of work to prioritise in person, and gbam, spent the past two months in and out of hospital.
I’m so happy I’ve discovered now. otherwise, 😭.

The literacy crisis isn’t that people can’t read the words. It’s that they can’t understand the context, infer meaning, recognise nuance, identify contradictions, or draw logical conclusions from what they’ve read

Guys please fight for the life you want. Drag yourself out of the pits of self-doubt, self sabotage and whatever the devil is whispering in your ear. We are not here for long, empty yourself up. ♥️🌸

I watched the video of Gbadebo and Doherty multiple times yesterday.
Culturally, we are taught o respect people who hold certain positions.
These men are gubernatorial candidates for Lagos state and yet, tear gas was released not just into the air but so close to them.
The lady in yellow was coughing and crying, if her inhaler wasn’t close-by, I doubt if she would have made it.
If you ignore the signs, you will definitely see wonders.
Personally, I don’t want to see wonders 🙏🏾
My friend asked me to build his wardrobe --tops mostly-- and I'm all over myself in excitement!! --obviously, see the time!!-- really looking forward to execution though a bit nervous as I let my core tailors go and haven't taken a job since.

I pause movies at the slightest hint of embarrassment or tension.
I need time to mentally prepare for what I’m about to witness before we proceed.
