I first shared this story at @ISEHSociety 2023 online — and now it’s out!
Finally - my thesis work and my 1st first-author research article is now online in @NatureComms :

Data files, including nd2 & ims from our images along with fcs files from our FACS experiments, will be available here:

This is our first time using biostudies as a repository, so please feel free to DM me here or email me for any questions/issues.
Lastly, I gotta thank my lab, @DanielL84885058, @CincyImmunology, and everyone at Cincinnati Children's who helped me get to this day. Forever grateful for the support!
Grateful to @RepGregLandsman and his team for listening to his constituents and sharing our stories. I tried preparing for the interview, but I could not prepare for how nervous or emotionally draining it was.
Science in the US is at stake.
Some more context below👇
Which gets at my last point:
To whomever does watch this video – I hope you view this as a message for change that benefits everyone. We need a government that truly prioritizes science and medicine in the US. This benefits everyone, regardless of who you are or where you are.
Stuff like this has made me reconsider continuing research in the US. I can only imagine what scientists that needed their grants renewed or approved this cycle are thinking and feeling. The NIH is supposed to be one of the premier institutions in the world. Now it’s sputtering…
About a month after Donald Trump took office as the 47th US president, almost all grant-review meetings remain suspended at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), preventing the world’s largest public funder of biomedical research from spending much of its US$47 billion annual budget.

This isn’t some political over-exaggeration - decisions like these set the world back, not just the US. As a constituent of yours, please ensure that the NIH can continue to be at the forefront of science, not 2nd place.
So sad to hear another school shooting happened today. Very surreal when school shootings happen in your home town. Absolutely tragic.
Police say 5 people are dead and 5 people are injured in a shooting at Abundant Life Christian school in Madison. The shooter, a juvenile, is also dead. madison.com/news/local/crime…
@berniemoreno @JDVance @SenSherrodBrown @RepGregLandsman as a constituent of yours, please do your best to make sure events like these don’t happen again.
