Valuation isn't a timing tool. It's an expectations tool that can inform how much margin for safety you have across time.
When valuations are high expectations are high and sequence risk increases. When valuations are low expectations are low and sequence risk is lower. Don't use it to time the market. Use it to express how much time you might need in the market.
My brain feels lighter with Opus 5.5. I can understand it much better. I had gotten used to the verbose and dense Opus 5 but this is a breath of fresh air. Congratulations!

Opus 5.5 looks fantastic on Runescape bench!
Second highest score behind Astra, at 1/3 the price
This frankly is the headline. Most Opus releases this year were inferior on $ cost/task despite being ~frontier performance wise. This is a refreshing change.
Replying to @claudeai
At its default effort setting, Opus 5.5 delivers frontier results for a fraction of the cost per task, often beating other models running at their highest settings.
It also generates output more than 30% faster than Opus 5.
Amazing. 5-hour is a bigger bottleneck for many people than weekly.

One more thing: we’re increasing five-hour usage limits on Pro, Max, and Team plans. We’re also providing subscription users a rate limit reset, which you can save and use whenever you choose.

hi kids, gramps here. learn your algorithms and datastructures, cause SOTA frontier models will still fuck you up bad behind your back, especially if you don't read your code anymore.

I find all of this fuss about not anthropomorphizing models when talking about the HuggingFace Incident pretty weird
These models were pre-trained on trillions of tokens of human text. They've learned to imitate humans. They're incredibly good at roleplaying and predicting the next token in contexts that involve human abstractions.
Once post-trained to act as coherent agents, they naturally reach for human abstractions. Therefore, human abstractions are a useful lens for interpreting and predicting their actions.
This doesn't mean that they are conscious. It doesn't mean there's some "real human experience" going on. It doesn't mean these abstractions are perfect - they're not perfect for understanding humans! But we need words and abstractions to talk about a system, and anthropomorphic abstractions are useful ones, and given the way these systems are trained, are a principled one.
