If you have no interest in listening to your wife or considering her opinions, then you're unfit for marriage and family life in general. You shouldn't be pastoring or teaching in a church either. Find another hobby that suits you better, like chewing rocks in the woods.
"How effeminate is that, to let your wife tell you when she's gonna have kids or not? I mean that's feminism if I've ever heard it...she doesn't tell me what to do." In his sermon about postpartum practices, 'pastor' Jonathan Shelley lays down the law about family planning.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying: "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the moldy quesadilla leftovers which are in the back of the refrigerator, thou shalt not eat of them. For they have been in there since last Tuesday, and quite frankly, Adam, there is NO reason, under ANY circumstances, for thee to even..." Adam:

I do think saving yourself for marriage is a genuinely good, healthy, and beautiful thing. I neither recommend nor condone sexual immorality, because I believe it harms people in several ways. It simply isn't worth it. But I'll tell you what: As a Christian man, I would much rather marry a humble former prostitute who has had a genuine change of heart, sincerely repented, come to understand the goodness of Christ, and now shares that grace with others than a self-righteous virgin who can't stop going on about how much better she is than others, how shameful and worthless non-virgins are, and who even goes so far as to bully and shame those who have found salvation and freedom in Christ. I really want to emphasize just how deeply the latter mindset repulses me. As a matter of fact, I think I'd personally rather be launched into the sun, since that would be a quicker and less painful death than being married to the self-appointed commissar of everyone else's sexual past.
It's extremely important to notice when someone is saying something for the sole purpose of discouraging and demoralizing you. The millions of normal women without a pass at church are not going viral on social media. People who actually go to church know that.

📜 "And Jesus spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, 'God be merciful to me a sinner.' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." (Luke 18:9-14) 📜 "And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace." (Luke 7:44-50) 📜 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)

False prophet checklist 🐺📜🧐 (According to Jeremiah 23, written roughly 2,600 years ago and still highly relevant today.) --- 1. They misuse power and live hypocritically. Their leadership and private conduct are marked by corruption, lies, and moral compromise rather than faithfulness to God (vv. 10-14). 2. They strengthen people in sin instead of calling them to repentance. Rather than confronting evil, they reassure people and leave them comfortable in wrongdoing (vv. 14, 17, 22). 3. They speak from their own imagination rather than from God. Their visions, dreams, and messages originate in themselves, even though they present them as divine revelation (vv. 16, 25-28, 32) 4. They claim God's authority without being sent by Him. They speak as though God commissioned them and even use prophetic formulas such as "the LORD declares" when He has not spoken to them (vv. 21, 31-32) 5. They borrow, plagiarize, or imitate messages and present them as God's word. Jeremiah condemns prophets who steal words from one another and pass them off as divine revelation (v. 30) 6. Their ministry leads people away from truth rather than toward repentance. The result of their teaching is deception, continued sin, and spiritual wandering (vv. 22, 32) --- Jeremiah's positive test 1. A true prophet has stood in the counsel of the Lord and listened to His word. The message comes from God, not from personal imagination (vv. 18, 22) 2. A true prophet speaks God's word faithfully. He does not alter, embellish, or replace it with his own dreams or ideas (vv. 28-29) 3. A true prophet calls people away from evil. According to Jeremiah, genuine prophetic ministry leads people toward repentance and obedience (v. 22) --- 📜 Jeremiah 23 biblegateway.com/passage/?se…

Hello again Twitter! 👋 As I reach five thousand followers, I wanted to re-introduce myself. I’m a fulltime filmmaker and lifelong Presbyterian Christian who decided to start writing about the growing emergence of white supremacy as a reactionary, radicalizing, parasocial influence online in my own conservative, Protestant circles. It’s similarly grown in Roman Catholic and Orthodox circles, and among secular or non-Christian groups, but I write mostly about my own circles. Since I first dabbled in these topics a couple years ago, I was able to: — Publish the Joel Webbon Zoom call with Tobias Riemenschneider, where he defended his still (to this day) openly-pro-Hitler congregant, and said it would take ten thousand hours to determine if the Holocaust happened. — Publish the 2023 letter by all his former elders and deacons stating his disqualification from office due to his fornication with a congregant while he was an ordained Vineyard “head pastor” of a growing congregation of 80+ members. — Publish two pieces on the OPC elder who was ordained despite being a leader in a known white supremacist hate group that helped organize the Charlottesville rally, and who has continued to use violent and racist language himself. — Break the news months ahead of time that Joel Webbon would be partnering with Nick Fuentes. — Break the news about ecclesiastical charges being recommended against the PCA pastor in New Mexico who defended chattel slavery and liked tweets that said racism was not a moral failing. — Break the news about ecclesiastical charges being brought against the ARP’s pastor Michael Hunter for his white supremacist views. — Break the news about ecclesiastical charges being brought against the RPCNA’s pastor Samuel Ketcham for his white supremacist views. — Break the news about an FCC church ordering divested OPC minister Michael Spangler to cease teaching due to his white surpemacist views. — Break the news of the breakup of a Reformed white supremacist church in West Virginia founded by a pro-Hitler publisher Additionally I have been able pitch ideas like Phil Williams covering Corey Mahler here in Tennessee, or give background interviews to outlets like WORLD for their antisemitism cover story. I never would have imagined that this work would lead to death and rape threats against my family, our workplaces being contacted, our churches being contacted, threats of lawsuits against both myself and my churches, doxxing of my address and phone number here on Twitter, hate mail, and even packages being sent to us. Plus truly incredible slander, up to being accused of murder. I believe it’s important for all Christians to discuss this reactionary, growing, worldwide movement that has not yet reached its high water mark, and which continues to threaten the church.

I think many of you already know who Eli is, or at least have seen his work in your feed. But if you don't, I think you should. Few people have worked as persistently over the past several years to expose and document the growth and influence of white supremacist ideology, along with other ideologies I would describe as demonic, within parts of the Protestant church. Eli has done that work carefully and consistently, not only without compensation, but often at considerable personal cost. He has faced an extraordinary amount of hatred, false accusations, slander, shaming, threats and personal attacks, and at times has put his own comfort and safety on the line simply by refusing to look away. I believe much of that hostility comes precisely because his work has been so effective. What has impressed me just as much is how he has carried himself through it. He remains measured and decent, even toward people who are anything but decent toward him, and when he does get something wrong, he is quick to correct it and retract it. Reality is very different from the picture his opponents try to paint of him. Do not let repeated baseless accusations, distortions, and bad-faith attacks convince you otherwise. Fighting these battles can be incredibly frustrating, lonely, and exhausting, especially when the response to careful documentation is hostility, distortion, or abuse. I don't think we should underestimate the personal toll that takes over time. If you aren't already following Eli, I think you should. Pray for him. Support his work. And take a moment to appreciate what it costs to keep doing this kind of work when so many people would rather you stopped. Thank you @elimcgowan, and may God bless you sevenfold. 👊 --- 📜 "And Jesus answered them: "See that no one leads you astray." (Matthew 24:4) 📜 "Watch your life and doctrine closely. (Colossians 4:17) 📜 "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven." When the Nazis came to power in Germany, they did not generally describe their persecution and killing as murder. They framed it as legitimate action against people they defined as enemies, threats, traitors or outsiders. They used bureaucratic and political language such as "enemies of the state", "special treatment", "resettlement", and the "Final Solution" to obscure the reality of persecution, deportation, and mass killing. This language helped present violence as a matter of state policy and justified national necessity rather than as crimes and grave sins committed against individual human beings.

Once they label you a "traitor", their own logic can turn murdering you into a supposedly legitimate act of the state rather than a crime. And yet, some of the same people who embrace that kind of reasoning react with outrage when they are compared to Nazis.

"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." (Proverbs 31:26) Her "tongue" could just as well be her thumbs. The verse is about communication. Wherever and however she expresses herself, wisdom and kindness come through.

Does an actual Proverbs 31 woman express her opinion on X?

Yes. 💯 No serious Christian man with any sense or backbone should want Islamist-coded, cultish, chauvinistic, or neo-Nazi-inspired ideologies gaining a foothold in our churches, communities, or families. I think it is of the utmost importance to make clear that efforts to impose, normalize, or advance such ideologies are not welcome in our Christian communities or in Christianity more broadly, because they have nothing to do with authentic Christianity, no matter how insistently their proponents try to smooth-talk, deceive, shame, or gaslight Christians into believing otherwise. There should be no ambiguity or negotiation on that point. More Christian men should be willing to draw much firmer boundaries and take attempts at covert ideological influence seriously. It is also spiritually weak to stand aside and leave women to confront these destructive, often deeply chauvinistic influences on their own, especially when women have, so far, been far more vocal about them on X. The church, as the body of Christ, has both the right and the responsibility to defend its doctrine, its members, and the integrity of its institutions. And, to state my personal view plainly: I think destructive influences such as Ogden, NXR, StoneChoir, and other proponents of what I regard as deeply corrosive ideology should be confronted firmly rather than accommodated or normalized, with the same seriousness we would bring to preventing people from sexualizing or grooming children, pressuring them toward LGBTQ or transgender identities, or attempting to normalize pedophilia and abortion. No, I do not consider these people brothers in Christ. I have absolutely no interest in their praise, in cooperating with them, or in indulging their nonsense, and I never will. And yes, I do in fact judge people who choose to cozy up to them, excuse them, or lend them credibility. I think you should too Wake up, Christians. Recognize the wolves. Name the ideology. Draw the line. Do not give it a foothold in the church. --- 📜 Book of Jude biblegateway.com/passage/?se… 📜 2 Peter 2 biblegateway.com/passage/?se…

If you guys want to become more skilled at discerning lies, avoid being bamboozled by charismatic but deceitful people with selfish motives, or even expose them, one of my number-one pro tips, apart from knowing your Bible well, is to know and keep track of the precise definitions of words. If you do this, you've effectively blocked one of the most common ways liars manipulate people... 🧵

And here's a bonus tip: Apply the same principle to yourself. Define your own terms clearly. Test your own thoughts and ideas against both sound reasoning and the Bible itself. Ask yourself what you actually believe and what you actually mean by the words you're using. Don't use complex words you can't define clearly. And when you speak or write, aim to express your ideas so simply and precisely that it's nearly impossible for someone to misunderstand what you're saying. If you make a habit of doing that, you'll become much better at discerning truth, thinking clearly, writing precisely, teaching faithfully, handling theology carefully, and sharing the gospel with greater clarity.
