Every day, Nigerians wake up to another kidnapping, another killing, another tragedy.
More than 40 pupils and teachers are abducted, and families are left crying, praying, and hoping for a miracle. Yet the urgency we expect from those in power never seems to match the urgency of the crisis.
Sometimes you can’t help but wonder: if it were the children, grandchildren, or family members of the powerful, would the response be this slow? Would there be this much silence? Would there be this much waiting?
What frustrates many Nigerians is not just the insecurity itself, but the feeling that energy is often directed toward less pressing matters while ordinary citizens are left to face fear and uncertainty alone.
When a prominent person is involved, action can seem swift. When it’s ordinary citizens, the process suddenly becomes slow, complicated, and filled with promises.
Mr. President, Nigerians are not asking for magic. They are asking for safety. They are asking for leadership. They are asking for the same urgency that would be shown if the victims were members of the political class.
A nation cannot keep watching its people suffer while those entrusted with power appear disconnected from their pain.
Enough speeches.
Enough promises.
Bring back security. Bring back accountability. Bring back a government that treats every Nigerian life as important.

Over 40 pupils and teachers have been kidnapped by bandits
The news is on the screen.
The tears are in the homes of their families.
But for some leaders, it’s just another channel to switch from.
Maybe it hurts less when it isn’t your child, your grandchild, or your family living the nightmare. 💔
