The biggest mistake AI founders are making right now is trusting AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure with their proprietary models. When you build your cutting-edge AI startup on a centralized cloud monopoly, you aren't just buying compute power. You are handing over your blueprints to your biggest potential competitor. The reality of "Big Tech Infrastructure" is simple: They control the servers. They monitor the workloads. They track your data ingestion and token usage patterns. If your AI system starts gaining massive traction, those centralized platforms can see exactly how it runs. They have the capital, the hardware, and the engineers to reverse-engineer your pipeline, clone your workflow, and launch a native feature that undercuts you before you even finish your next funding round. We’ve seen this playbook for a decade with standard SaaS apps on AWS. With AI, where data and weights are the actual enterprise value, the stakes are exponentially higher. If you are building proprietary AI, you cannot afford to blindly trust the cloud infrastructure monopolies. Look into decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) and hardware-enforced Confidential Computing (TEEs). Secure your infrastructure, or prepare to watch your own cloud provider become your biggest competitor. Look to projects like iExec( $RLC ), Phala ( $PHA ), and Secret Network ( $SCRT ). I'm not saying to invest or buy these but look at the technology behind them and how they can solve the issues stated above. AI is a tool in the right hands it can benefit society as a whole and in the wrong hands it can be used to steal and subjugate from us. The people producing the innovation must decide which route to go down. Going the corporate route may be easier in the short term, but will have long term consequences.

We already won the data center "war". Do not listen to paid off politicians who can barely spin these tech terror centers as a good thing. How does this effect the average person where I live in VA? The bill is yours: higher rates, a strained grid, water, noise, and warehouses marching into the next county. Destruction of rich farmland and rivers that are going to be sucked dry. Virginia has over 650 data centers while China has between 350-450 data centers. In fact, Virginia alone holds around 1/3 of the world's hyper scale sites. They use around 25% of the states electrical resources. Most of this is concentrated in VA's Data Center Alley. Don’t import this to your state. As they keep spreading past Data Center Alley, ask what the extra capacity is for? Because a lot of this compute is not “the internet.” It’s for watching, targeting, and running drones and robots at scale. They are being strategicly placed around the country for a reason. We are selling out our freedom by trading our valuable land/water/electrical costs for mass surveillance centers that end up costing us money and ruin our way of life. There is no tangible benefit to the average person. Say NO to data center and stop them from being built by any means necessary.
