A strong roadway starts with quality at every stage. The Henry County SPLOST Department conducts quality control checks on active roadway projects to help ensure safety, durability, and lasting performance.
At the McDonough Parkway Extension, that work includes the new bridge under construction, an important piece of infrastructure for Henry County’s transportation network. As these photos show, the SPLOST team is on-site, checking progress and making sure the work meets established standards every step of the way.
Have you noticed the work taking place along the medians on the County-maintained portions of Jonesboro Road?
Henry County DOT is responsible for a wide range of tasks, from maintaining rights-of-way and addressing potholes to keeping our roads and surrounding areas in good condition. We appreciate the crews who work outdoors in all kinds of weather to keep up with these important responsibilities.
Last week, our Fire Prevention Specialists were so busy out in the community for National Fire Prevention Week that we didn’t get a chance to snap a picture. Today, we finally got lucky! 📸
Carla Gutierrez and Kara Tomlinson are sharing important fire prevention information at our Mobile Health Clinic, helping residents learn how to stay safe and reduce fire risks.
These two and the Community Risk Reduction Team spend every day out in the community, educating residents and promoting fire safety. We’re glad we could capture a moment to recognize the important work they do to help keep Henry County safe. 🚒

🚨 IMPORTANT VOTING INFORMATION
False information is circulating through text messages and social media claiming that poll workers may write on voters’ ballots, potentially causing them to be disqualified.
This information is false and misleading. Poll workers do not write on voters’ ballots or mark their voting selections. A poll worker's role is to assist voters with the voting process and ensure proper procedures are followed.
In Georgia, voters using in-person voting make their selections on a Ballot Marking Device, review their printed ballot, and personally insert it into the scanner to cast their vote.
Please help stop the spread of misinformation by sharing accurate information. For official election information, visit mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Making Henry County more accessible, one improvement at a time. ♿️
Henry County Government is continuing its work to improve accessibility across County facilities and make sure residents and visitors can navigate, use and enjoy our public spaces.
Since 2022, the County has conducted ADA studies at numerous facilities and completed improvements based on those findings. These efforts have included adding and relocating accessible parking spaces, improving access aisles and sidewalks, updating signage, adjusting restroom features, improving door accessibility and removing barriers that can make it more difficult for individuals with disabilities to access our facilities.
The work is ongoing. ADA studies and improvements continue at County facilities, including Mt. Carmel Park, where efforts are currently in progress.
Accessibility also extends to how residents interact with their County government. Henry County conducts quarterly reviews of its website to identify and correct issues and continues to improve how residents can submit ADA concerns.
Our goal is simple: to help ensure that Henry County facilities and services are accessible to everyone.
Learn more about the County’s ADA improvements and how to submit an ADA concern at henrycountyga.gov.
