I DM's you with the information and more detail account of the event.
So apparently when you mistakenly give away hotel reservation of an #asian #korean to another with a "similar" first name and same last name the best you can do is 50% off the room. Is that right @Marriott @MarriottBonvoy ?
Now that i checked out and called the manager because my card was still charged. The "best" they can do is 50% compt - since we stayed in the hotel.
So we were forced to choose to stay in a single king room with the communication that we would be compensated fully for the rooom i pre-paid.
The best they could offer is two single king rooms or a room at a sister hotel. Both options were not acceptable because the double room would separate me from mom. Mom was too tired from travel to go to another hotel.
I reserved a double queen bed room so i can be close to mom with her medical needs. Apparently the hotel over-sold on queen rooms and could not give me the room i reserved.
I had to show my ID and reservation number to prove my reservation was mine. All to learn the hotel gave away my reservation to a different Korea "with a similar first name", last name Kim, without checking reservation number. #korean #asianlastname
I am so disappointed and fristrated at you @MarriottBonvoy @Marriott. I have been traveling from Florida to Princeton New Jersy with my mom who is battling #cancer. To arrive at your SpringHill Suites at Ewing #princeton to learn you gave my reservation away to a different Kim.

I tried verifying continued student status but wasn't able to because my account is reaching the 4-year term.

@amazon has a 4-year max term for student prime account, so my account is ending. No extensions for Ph.D. or doctoral students. As a Ph.D. student, this is a little disappointing as our studies often go beyond 4 years and discounts and savings are important. #phdlife @PhDStudents
There have been many thoughts that have been going through my head during the past few days. This article by @ericnamofficial gives words to some of my thoughts well and gives a glimpse of being Asian American - It's complex and convoluted
