Examiners are asking for more documentation to prove how your model risk management works, including governance, validation, and ongoing monitoring, in line with SR 26-2. Most AI systems weren't built to produce that documentation. But na2.hubs.ly/H07Jp5C0's Auditor Portal gives examiners a full audit trail (and it's ready before they even ask). 12.5 million queries a day. Zero of them touch the cloud. That's what #OnPremAI actually looks like at scale for #RegulatedAI institutions.

And regulated buyers want AI they can inspect. Go.AI raised $85M to put models inside banks' walls: on premises, a fixed fee instead of a per-token meter, and a record of every action an examiner can read. Founded by an accounting professor and her student.

🔒 Go.AI has raised an $85M Series A led by Updata Partners, with GFT Ventures and LAUNCH joining, to run AI inside customers' own secure environments — no data leaves the building. 200+ customers, ARR up 8x, and 12.5M queries a day.

The most sensitive AI deployments in banking and defense can't touch the cloud at all. Go.AI, an eight-year-old Chicago startup that sells on-premises AI hardware and software to organizations with strict security and regulatory requirements, raised an $85 million Series A led by Updata Partners, with LAUNCH and previous investor GFT Ventures also participating. The company has raised $90 million total. On-prem AI sounds like a step backward while everyone races to the cloud, but for banks and defense contractors bound by data residency rules, cloud AI was never actually an option.

$Go.AI raised an $85M Series A led by Updata Partners while maintaining profitability. Total funding sits at $90M after ARR grew more than 8x year over year selling on-prem AI hardware to regulated industries. The company processes 12.5M queries daily across 200+ customers in financial services, healthcare, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing. This appliance-style model keeps software and hardware inside the customer's secure environment with no proprietary data sent to a third party. Rebranded from Go Abacus earlier in September, the firm says it plans to move beyond core regulated verticals into broader compliance-minded sectors. Does expanding the addressable market risk diluting the specific examiner-ready niche that made the unit economics work? Source: AI Insider: theaiinsider.tech/2026/09/22…

Yesterday a startup raised 85 million dollars to run AI that never leaves the building. No cloud. No API. A full audit trail, sitting inside banks and hospitals. The company is eight years old and says it already turns a profit. It closed this round the same week the big model labs cut their prices again. Here is the part most founders miss. When the model gets cheap, the model stops being the edge. Anyone can rent the same intelligence you did by Friday. The moat moved. What does not get cheap is being allowed in the room. A bank does not care that your model is clever. It cares that the thing is auditable, runs on hardware they control, and never leaks. That kind of trust takes years and cannot be downloaded. Easy markets commoditize the day the next cheap model ships. The hard, boring, regulated ones hold. Cheap intelligence is everywhere now. Permission to run it where the real money sits is not.

I dug into the Chicago tech scene going back ~50 years. How many successful tech companies were founded here? Who is behind them? How much value have they generated? I struggled to find good data, so I did some research... Chicago Tech’s $100M List: docs.google.com/spreadsheets…
