one of my first motivations to study maths was to learn about algebraic topology and now after such a long time I can understand how the fundamental group works :)

i think the fact that the general public's stance is "yeah i use ai sometimes" especially coming from people in creative fields is extremely depressing
I don't think enough people realise how much AI is ruining everything in education. Even something as simple as learning these two character sets gets flooded with endless slop

I have lost all my respect for Professor Tau. How dare he say AI progress must be paced? The solution to the Never Strokes Conjecture could help so many people with an urgent cure for cerebral hemorrhage. I'm feeling so disappointed.

What's unforgivable to me is how many professional mathematicians colluded, either out of naivete or out of financial incentive, with the AI labs, in bringing about the wholesale destruction of mathematics. This is reason enough to quit the profession for me.
