Reflecting on a future in which Europe assumes greater responsibility for its own security, Major noted: “Europeans will be worse off because with a big political, military, nuclear, strategic ally we are stronger...the DNA of European defense is deeply American, so we have to change our DNA.”

The fifth annual @HelSecForum is now behind us.✨
As a long-term supporter of the forum, Patria was proud to be strongly represented throughout the event. On Friday, our President and CEO, Panu Routila, joined the panel discussion “Ramping up Defence in Europe”. The discussion explored how closer cooperation and a stronger industrial base can help strengthen Europe's defence capabilities.
On Saturday, Patria and @Navyfi hosted a capability showcase for forum participants. Visitors had the opportunity to take a closer look at Patria AMV XP and Patria 6x6 vehicles, as well as seeing the Patria TREMOS mortar system. Participants also had the chance to visit the Hamina-class missile boat Pori, whose mid-life upgrade was led by Patria.
A heartfelt thank you to the organisers and all participants for three inspiring days in Helsinki.

I took part in the Helsinki Security Forum together with the Presidents of Finland and Moldova – Alexander Stubb and Maia Sandu. Thank you for the invitation. It is important that Ukraine is represented at this forum, because the Russian threat is not just about Ukraine, but about the security of all of Europe. And we are ready to share our experience and how to defend ourselves.
I spoke about the priority areas for strengthening security. In the face of any threats, we strengthen both the EU and NATO. Today, our data centers, mobile communications, logistics, and railways are being attacked. This is hybrid warfare. The sea is being blocked. All of these are challenges. And although I would not wish this experience on anyone, Ukraine has it because of the war. Above all, this is why we need ongoing dialogue at different levels – to become stronger together.
