According to the @CDCgov, Black women are two times as likely as White women to experience stillbirth. The CDC report notes that these differences persisted from 2023 to 2024, with no significant change in the rates for these major groups. #stillbirth #stillbirthprevention

Stillbirth isn’t rare. La’Zette’s family is just one of the nearly 20,000 families in the United States who are impacted by stillbirth each year. Share this video to help spread awareness, which leads to prevention.

How can we better understand the causes of stillbirth? How can we improve care? How can we give families better answers and more tools to prevent loss? Asking better questions leads to better research, better care, and, ultimately, better outcomes for moms and babies.

At the center of all of this data are thousands upon thousands of heartbroken families who are left with a lifetime of what-ifs. Let’s prevent more families from wondering ‘what if?’ Start a conversation about stillbirth.

Behind every stillbirth is a baby, a family, and a story that matters. This Stillbirth Awareness Day, we honor the babies lost and the families who love them. CDC is continuing to work to better understand why stillbirth happens and what can be done to prevent it. We also provide information and resources to support families navigating a loss. #StillbirthPreventionDay

@LeVequeTower in teal & purple on September 19 to honor families affected by stillbirth, raise public awareness, and promote prevention strategies. Research indicates that at least 25% of stillbirths are potentially preventable through improved awareness, screening, and care.

Getting my Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act signed into law was a major step forward, but there is so much more work to do to end the tragedy of stillbirth. I’m proud to work alongside @Healthy_Birth & families who have turned unimaginable loss and pain into action. Their stories are what keep this work moving forward - and why I reintroduced a bipartisan resolution this week recognizing September 19th as National Stillbirth Prevention and Awareness Day. We’ve made real progress, but I won’t stop fighting to prevent stillbirth, support moms and babies, and ensure more families get to bring their babies home.
