520 days since the Taliban BANNED girls from school, and 66 days since they banned women from university. Millions of girls in Afghanistan are unable to access the most basic of human rights - an education. Can we even begin to fathom the pain & despair they must be feeling?

Tanya of @HealthProm & Anna agree that because small charities typically don't have many resources or much time to dedicate to #safeguarding, it's crucial to have someone with direct knowledge of target group & the risks which might arise, e.g. a social worker &/or psychologist.
Next up we're hearing from Tanya Buynovskaya of @HealthProm who have a well-established #safeguarding policy for children & adults, updated every year. Tanya underlines the importance of local partners tailoring their policies to regional needs.

The speed of events in Afghanistan has taken everyone by surprise. We, together with the rest of the world, are very uncertain about the future. Our immediate priority is the safety of our local Afghan team and their families. We are taking every step to protect and support them.
