Today, @POTUS, joined by @FLOTUS, signed an executive order directing HHS to establish a new Women’s Health Division at @NIH to strengthen research, accelerate medical breakthroughs, and improve health outcomes for women and girls. The order also establishes a White House Women’s Health Task Force, co-chaired by @SecKennedy and @SusieWiles47, to coordinate federal efforts to advance women’s health at every stage of life—from childhood and adolescence to reproductive health, menopause, and healthy aging.

RFK Jr. says he will stop at nothing to hold institutions accountable that have harmed Americans’ health. “I didn’t come to Washington to protect institutions from uncomfortable questions.” “I came to make those institutions answer those questions.” “I intend to stay in this fight as long as I am able.” “I told people… that I would be in this fight, and that I would die with my boots on.” “That’s what I intend to do.” @childrenshd

I was honored to join @Heritage Men and Women’s Health Summit to discuss a lesson I learned firsthand as a urologist: too often, men enter the health care system only after a health problem has progressed.   We need to change that. Male fertility can offer important insights into broader health, and we must do more to recognize warning signs earlier, strengthen prevention, and address the root causes of poor health.   Restoring men’s health in America starts upstream—empowering men and families with the knowledge and tools to take action earlier and build healthier live

At the very place where the Belmont Report was developed, Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos, Director of National Health Communications for the Office of the Surgeon General and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, reflects on its lasting impact on human research protections. Nearly 50 years later, its principles continue to guide ethical research and protect those who participate.

Under the previous administration, my predecessor, Rachel Levine promoted what he called “gender-affirming care” for minors. There is nothing “caring” about that. These are sex-rejecting procedures promoted by the Biden Administration, and thanks to President Trump’s leadership, we’re changing course.
“Doctors and hospitals must put children’s health ahead of ideology and financial gain. This report identifies troubling billing practices that demand scrutiny. HHS will follow the evidence, protect taxpayers, and hold accountable anyone who broke the law or violated the trust of patients and families. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are restoring transparency and integrity to American medicine.” —@SecKennedy

“Haridopolos is right to sound the alarm. Excessive screen time can affect how children think, learn and develop. That’s reason enough to pay attention. Her warning is also an important reminder that childhood is about more than cognitive development.” Read the full article highlighting solutions to excessive screen use from Dr. Haridopolos, Director of National Communications for the Office of the Surgeon General: kotaradio.com/2026/08/10/we-…

Welcome to World Breastfeeding Week, observed August 1–7 and first celebrated in 1992. The Office of the Surgeon General has long recognized breastfeeding as a public health priority. Breastfeeding offers important health benefits for both babies and mothers and can bring moments of closeness and joy. But it also asks a great deal of mothers. Knowledgeable care, protected time, workplace flexibility, and support at home can reduce those demands. This week, as we celebrate breastfeeding, we will highlight its health benefits, acknowledge the effort it requires from mothers, and call attention to the support we owe them.

Sixty percent of mothers do not breastfeed for as long as they intend. Lactation and latching difficulties, concerns about infant nutrition, an early return to work, and limited support can make breastfeeding difficult to start and even harder to continue. Mothers need knowledgeable care, adequate leave, workplace protections, and practical support at home to make breastfeeding possible. This World Breastfeeding Week, we recognize the barriers mothers face and our shared responsibility to remove them.

As World Breastfeeding Week comes to a close, we reflect on the Office of the Surgeon General’s long history of supporting breastfeeding. In 1984, the Surgeon General convened a national workshop on breastfeeding and human lactation. In 2011, the Office issued The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Support Breastfeeding, calling on health care systems, employers, communities, families, and policymakers to help remove the barriers mothers face. The commitment to breastfeeding remains strong, we will continue to help more mothers breastfeed for as long as they intend and help give more babies the healthiest possible start in life.
