I cant believe what I have achieved with this research. Shifting narratives that surround Black men has always been my goal during this doctorate at @DclinpsyUh. @Juvenis and @Rachel_McKail you have been so instrumental across my journey and have helped me do this 🎉🎊💐♥️

These are the asks from young people in Lambeth's Peer Action Collective (run by @Spiralskills @Juvenis @IRMOLondon @MLCEnterprise @smpbrixton @HighTreesCDT), based on their research into causes of violence. Every ask is urgent & reasonable (and challenging for the status quo.)

We must not become desensitised to violence against women & girls. The murder of a young woman in Brixton on Monday in broad daylight as a suspected random act of violence was senseless. Yesterday I visited the scene twice and spoke with @itvlondon about this tradgedy:

Personally, i've been gobsmacked by the lack of #timely, #free early intervention mental health support available for young people where i live. Disturbed by the postcode and school provision lottery. Being undiagnosed SEN adds another layer. We need better for our young people!
Our hearts are heavy reading this. One-third of children referred to services are denied help. That’s 250,000 children without the support they need. Thresholds for support are too high, waiting lists are too long, and young people are being failed.

⁦@JENGbA⁩ took legal action against ⁦@CPSUK⁩ & today we can announce that they have agreed to monitor data on #jointenterprise prosecutions. This is a huge victory for a grassroots campaign. Thank you ⁦@libertyhq⁩ for all your hard work. jointenterprise.co

A powerful way to rethink imposter syndrome. Flip to a growth mindset: "The highest form of self-confidence is believing in your ability to learn". Thank you @tnvora

Interesting article...how many conversations have we had about this @Voice_for_2018 ?
"I see women offered extra coaching to encourage them to take career risks, overcome ‘impostor syndrome’ & boost their skills in leadership & grant writing. But the evidence is clear: it is not women who need fixing, but entrenched systems of inequality." nature.com/articles/d41586-0…
Great post with lots of inspiration in the comments
Serious question: How in the world do people in academia find time to exercise? What am I doing wrong? What are you doing right? For me, not eating junk food is a miracle in itself but exercising these days is another level. #AcademicTwitter @OpenAcademics @PhDVoice @PhD_Genie

I am totally in agreement with this 👇🏾
A higher than average % of exclusions are children with SEND needs . Wasted life chances in every school! So let’s design a UK pathways curriculum in recognition of this & allow each child(SEN/non-SEN) to achieve his/ her full potential? @MrsSDalton75 @sarah_j_d_34

Im in Dartford and sadly no surprise to see this. Completely detached from peoples real life experiences. The immense need for food banks across the borough is no laughing matter 🤦🏾‍♀️
WTF are they all so happy about?
