The reason that female sports exists in the first place is due to the differences between male and female bodies. Title IX had barely begun to achieve its goals before they started allowing males in female sports. If the Dems can't start to admit that two groups with competing interests must be contended with fairly, then the Dems are going to continue to hemorrhage voters and face a very uncertain future.

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.

Now is the time for the DOJ to get more aggressive and target some doctors. Shutting down the hospital clinics is great, but the individual docs will open their own clinics.
I also hope the DOJ is using careful language in these settlement agreements. A hospital could easily finance an individual doc opening their own "independent clinic" and then refer all patients to that doc. The hospitals need to be prevented from having any equity or debt investment in any entity that provides sex rejecting procedures.

The Justice Department announced that NYU Langone and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center had joined four other major hospitals in reaching such settlements, to the dismay of trans activists.
Two additional major hospitals today reached settlements with the Department of Justice to keep their pediatric gender clinics shuttered. This development amounts to more victories for the Trump administration as it wages a whole-of-government campaign to destroy what remains of the beleaguered field of pediatric gender medicine.
Facing accusations of potential violations of federal law, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center—the largest medical provider in Pennsylvania—and NYU Langone have each agreed to cease providing gender-transition interventions to minors, according to a Justice Department news release. NYU Langone will pay an $8.5 million penalty and UPMC will pay $950,000.
“The Department of Justice is fighting to protect our nation’s children and working tirelessly to reach agreements with hospitals to end so-called ‘gender affirming care’ for minors,” Attorney General Todd Blanche said in the release. “Today’s resolutions send a clear message: hospitals that target children in these practices and then fraudulently obtain payment for the procedures will be held to account.”
“In working towards these resolutions,” the news release stated, “the United States acknowledged that both NYU and UPMC took significant steps entitling them to credit for cooperation with the Department in its investigation, including ongoing cooperation in the Department’s investigation of other entities potentially violating federal law in connection with the provision of sex-rejecting procedures to minors. At all times during the investigation, NYU and UPMC remained cooperative and solutions-driven.”
New York’s Mt. Sinai earlier this month reached a similar settlement to keep its pediatric gender clinic closed, joining a roster of hospitals to have capitulated in the face of the Trump administration’s threats to this field that includes Texas Children’s Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Mt. Sinai agreed to pay a monetary penalty and to put $2 million toward patients who have been harmed by gender-transition interventions they received as minors.
There was no mention in the news release on Friday of UPMC or NYU Langone being compelled to provide treatment for so-called detransitioners.
The Justice Department made clear in the release that it is continuing to target other major hospitals, suggesting that more such settlements may be on the horizon.

Jon, You spent an article and an interview turning “moderate” over in your hands until the word dissolved. Fair enough. Words that everyone claims and no one defines are usually covering something. The ones you still will not pick up are simpler, and they did more institutional work than “defund the police.”

Those were not bumper stickers that got a bit shouty in 2020 and can now be laughed off as “crazy” while the “fruitful” conversation continues. They were the load-bearing slogans. They moved from Tumblr into HR, medicine, prisons, sport, and law. They did not ask voters to dislike cops. They asked institutions to treat sex as a feeling and male anatomy as compatible with the category woman. That is not language policing as a media hobby. That is a redefinition of a class of people.
You note that politicians want the cut-through of a slogan and must live with the misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding here. The slogan meant what it said. A woman, on that account, is whoever says so; therefore a penis can be a female organ. Once that is policy, single-sex spaces become a bigotry, data on male-pattern crime become “hate,” and girls’ sport becomes a negotiation. You can call that kindness. You cannot call it moderate, and you cannot call the objection “all over the place” voting.
Your anti-woke “priests” line is the tell. Some writers are tedious about 2020. That does not make the sanction imaginary. People lost work for refusing those two sentences—not for wanting ICE abolished or Medicare expanded. An animator, a academic, a nurse, a lesbian who would not date a penis: the punishment was professional, not liturgical. When El-Sayed says he thought we were over cancel culture, ask who got the amnesty. Male streamers, often. Women who said sex is binary, never.
You say most people think their views are common sense. Quite. Adult human female is common sense. The fact that your piece can historicize “moderate” from the 1640s to Michigan and never test it against those slogans is not nuance. It is the status quo you keep describing without naming. Fight versus flight, stick it to ’em, Mod Squad pugnacity—none of it matters to women as a sex class if both factions still need “trans women are women” to remain the price of admission.
If 2020’s language was crazy, say which language. If it was only the police slogans, you are still protecting the more radical claim: that a woman can have a penis, and that noticing is the extreme position.

I went to a public event in New York City to discuss some of the entailments of gender identity and was confronted by no fewer than five armed police officers who claimed that I could be arrested if I did not leave at the behest of a city official.
I explained to the officers that the reason that a public official was asking them to behave as his personal goon squad and violate my First Amendment rights was that I had had a conversation with two different people manning booths advertising various public services asking them if they agreed with Eric Adams that it's wrong to allow any boy who says he is a girl to shower with girls in the NYC public school system. I also explained that none had the right to remove me from a public city-sponsored event.
I told them I would ignore their threats to arrest me and continue having conversations where I was exercising a right that none of them could lawfully abridge and remained for another hour.
