I have my final School assembly coming up after 37 years in education and 14 years as a Head. No pressure…
What should my theme be? (Primary age)
Any retired Heads on here? Is it usual to be having awful dreams related to school 8 weeks before retiring? It’s exhausting.

I don’t usually get riled by junk mail, but this has really annoyed me. It’s a personal choice to smoke or vape, but to send this offer through the post to entice me to start is wrong. I’ve never received a personalised discount through the post from a cigarette or booze company!
Today I told my staff and parents that I am retiring next summer. A tough decision as I love my school, but the time is right for the school and me (and I still have four more terms 👍🏻)

Mom was an addict & alcoholic, dad was MIA, homeless, walked until I had holes in my shoes, ward of the state until age 21…but I made it out alright! Went to college, earned a BA and M.Ed degrees, became a teacher married a teacher, won teacher of the year, now serving as AP! 🙌🏾
Tomorrow I start my 14th year of Headship. The last few years have been particularly turbulent for us all and the next year is going to provide even more challenges. I wish all Heads on here good luck and remember we are all here for each other #headteacherchat #headteacher
