Final version of Perturabo. What primarch (loyalist or traitor) is your favorite and which should I draw next?

How it started vs how it ended: I had to spend quite a bit of time on the portrait in this illustration. Achieving the effect I was aiming for didn鈥檛 happen right away, but trusting the process ultimately solved that problem for me. With fresh eyes, I like it a lot more.馃懟馃

Haven鈥檛 posted in a while. I realized I have quite a lot of sketches, but I hesitate to share them because they鈥檙e not polished enough, in my opinion. Refining them takes time, which I don鈥檛 always have. Here鈥檚 one sketch from a personal project I鈥檝e been working on recently.

Low poly Warhammer study (ignore topology - it is cursed 馃榿 added it for composition) Tried to block out the character using simple geometry. #lowpoly #blender

I really enjoy working in 3D, setting up materials in 2D and then using them as textures. A low-poly model with good lighting often works better than a high-poly one and is much more optimized. Proportions, light and shadow, and textures are what really matter
The base for the character is ready. What鈥檚 left is refining and adjusting the elements
