My patient was extremely depressed. An unmarried hepatitis B positive young man without liver disease, asked me today, if I had any unmarried hepatitis B positive women under my care for him to get married to. He has longed for a family for many years now.
Just because he is hepatitis B positive, he was not getting any proposals, and the women who were interested in him, their families decided it was not good to get their daughter married to someone with hepatitis B.
It is really difficult, depressing and tiring to see people getting stigmatized in this era, even in a so-called highly literate and educated society like in Kerala. I can't imagine what it is like for them, in other places.
And it's not the first time. Years ago, a young female patient of mine with hepatitis B (but literally no liver disease) who was shunned by many men and their families because she was carrying the virus, was eventually, forcefully married off to a young paraplegic man in another country - to perform duties as caretaker, with a wife tag. He has money and she got easy citizen status, so she can get jobs there. Her uncle who made the deal, got a handsome commission from the paraplegic man's father (I knew this from her cousin brother who is also under my care for hepatitis B virus infection - all of them got the virus at birth from the maternal lineage).
Majority of people with hepatitis B, under my care are carriers of the virus without active liver disease, only on surveillance, and with normal life expectancy and 99.9% of them have gotten hepatitis B from their unvaccinated parents early in their lives (mother during birth - vertical transmission; or father or a very close relative during early childhood years - horizontal transmission).
It is really depressing to see that the society still looks at these patients as "bad characters" paying a price and stigmatizing them. Looks like I have to play cupid also, for my patients. Whatever it takes, to help them get better and happy.

Uttarakhand Taekwondo player, in front of CM Pushkar Dhami, in a live program, alleged that she won gold medal in tournament and had to go international.
But they demanded ₹1.5 lac from her, which she couldn’t pay, thus missed the opportunity.
CM said “okay beta sit down.”
As of now, the live programme has been deleted from all platforms.

Delayed kickoffs, pointless shows, breaking the rules of the games regarding the 15 minute half time, ad breaks disguised as hydration breaks.
Destroying the very core of the sport. Americans don't deserve to host anything ever again.

The government sold ethanol blending as a way to reduce petrol prices for common people. But when crude oil prices crashed globally, where was the relief at the fuel pump in India?
If 20% ethanol blending was supposed to make petrol cheaper, why didn’t consumers see the benefit? Crude became cheaper, ethanol was mixed in larger quantities, yet petrol prices stayed high while taxes kept rising.
The truth is simple: citizens were promised savings, but what they got was a marketing slogan. The burden on the middle class never reduced. Governments celebrated blending targets, oil companies protected margins, and ordinary people kept paying inflated prices.
You cannot keep claiming “energy independence” and “cost reduction” while refusing to pass global crude price cuts to the public. People are not blind. If the system benefits only the government and oil companies, then stop pretending it is being done for consumers.

My PM never misses a camera angle,
but misses every press conference where questions aren’t pre approved.
The man runs from journalists
like a toddler caught red handed with crayons and zero excuses.
Upon landing in Rome, had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Meloni over dinner followed by a visit to the iconic Colosseum. We exchanged perspectives on a wide range of subjects. Looking forward to our talks today, where we will continue the conversation on how to boost the India-Italy friendship.

27 Lakh Voters were deleted in West Bengal.
These were not 'dead people' or 'bangladeshis'. These were real people who had already appealed to get their votes restored. The Supreme court could’ve delayed the West Bengal elections until the tribunals finished hearing the appeals of these voters. But they didn’t. Only around 1607 voters were restored in time by phase 2 of these elections. Almost every appeal that was heard turned out to be a wrongful deletion.
In any functional democracy, this would not count as a free and fair election where a large section of voters have lost their voting rights. I'm not saying that TMC would've won for sure if they were added back, maybe BJP would still win, but the question is about the fairness of these elections.
Free and fair elections are a spectrum. Ever since Delhi-Maharashtra-Bihar-Bengal, this needle has moved more and more towards being unfair. Each time somehow the opposition parties participate as usual in the electoral process thinking that they can still pull of a win despite the compromised EC, ED, CBI etc. and each time they have been proven wrong after 2024 Lok Sabha. The question is, at what point will they feel that the level of unfairness is so unfair that elections should be boycotted?
I personally feel TMC should have refused to participate in these elections until all those 27 lakh appeals were finished being heard.

Palestine refused instead shouting out "We are suffering"
