What distinguishes Harrison.rad.1 from commercially available radiology AI tools? When we asked Dr Rick Abramson, MD, MHCDS, FCR, U.S. Board-Certified Radiologist this, he responded: “What I was really looking for in this test drive of Harrison.rad.1 was evidence that the model is going beyond current clinical decision-support AI tools that just associate an image finding with a diagnosis. I was looking to see if there is more in-depth logic that the model is following and I was very pleased to see that I saw evidence of that multi-step inferential thinking.” Discover the differences between Harrison.rad.1’s and other radiology AI tools in market bit.ly/4gaZzyh Discover more 👉 bit.ly/3Zce1zT

How can we ensure technology such as Harrison.rad.1 is safe and effective before it can be introduced into clinical practice? When we asked Professor Catherine Jones her opinion she responded, "If we aim for perfection, we will never implement anything. We need to assess what the problems are now and determine whether this type of technology can help to solve them. And that may require a different regulatory clearance framework." Harrison.rad.1 has been designed to uphold the stringent standards of safety and accuracy that apply in medicine. As well as its broad capabilities, it has embedded safety measures and rules that will foster safety and limit misuse and output errors. Ultimately, Harrison.rad.1 is part of an open invitation to join forces in shaping the endless capabilities of generative AI for healthcare, helping improve patient care and global health in a safe and responsible manner. What is the importance of having clinical context? When we asked Dr Nick Woznitza, MBE, PhD Consultant Radiographer & Clinical Academic UCL, he shared his thoughts: “Filtering out the significant abnormals from the expected abnormals is something that these models show really, really great potential for. Harrison.Rad.1 demonstrates an exciting evolution from a traditional deep learning models which will be accurate at finding classes or elements, but lack the ability to contextualise within the information for that patient.” Learn more about Harrison.rad.1’s potential to provide greater clinical context for patients and radiologists alike: bit.ly/3Zce1zT #harrisonrad1 #llm #radiologyai

Co-Founder and CEO of Harrison.ai @DrAengusTran sat down with Fierce Healthcare to share the news of the launch of Harrison.rad.1, the latest frontier in radiology-specific foundational models. It has been trained on extensive medical imaging data that is representative and diverse, enabling superior model training and accuracy to help close the radiology gap and help radiologists provide better patient care. "We are on a mission to scale the global capacity of diagnosis and treatment and improve patient outcomes by building a suite of AI tools that free doctors from doing repetitive and mundane tasks so they can truly focus on what is uniquely human" Tran said. AI has immense potential to assist medical practitioners with managing the increasing volume of radiological images and help address the global shortage of medical professionals. Our multimodal foundational model, Harrison.rad.1, is a specialised medical model combined with an open-ended chat interface that detects and localises radiological findings, generates clinical-grade reports, and provides longitudinal reasoning based on clinical history and patient context. It is the only multimodal foundational model in imaging trained on a high-quality dataset of millions of images, radiology studies and reports, making it the most capable multimodal model to date in radiology. Harrison.rad.1 outperforms competitor LLMs from leading AI companies by ~2x on the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) 2B Rapids exam and achieves 82% accuracy on closed questions, outperforming other generalist and specialist LLM models on one of the most widely used benchmarks, the VQA-RAD benchmark. AI technology is one of the most exciting, powerful tools ever created. Sure, we can use it to find synonyms, make shopping lists or even write our best man or maid of honour speeches… but why don’t we use it to save and improve lives? At Harrison.ai, we want to start a bigger, more meaningful conversation about AI. Today, we’ve launched the world’s most capable multimodal foundational model for medical use, Harrison.rad.1. We’ve done this with the aim of using state-of-the-art technology to drive the urgently-needed expansion of global radiology capacity. Harrison.rad.1 has been outperforming other AI models in radiology tests. We share this in a spirit of transparency, optimism… and friendly competition. We want to be the inspiration that drives collective progress, because together, we can move the world forward and improve lives.
