So, I'm going to Pittsburgh next month... Found out last week that my romantic comedy screenplay Drawn Together is a finalist at the Three Rivers Film Festival!
I turned the script into a short film this year so it's lovely seeing the writing getting recognition.

Today feels like a good day to remind people in the film industry to not surround yourself with negativity. This career is already hard enough. I am very aware you can't "out-manifest" a bad situation BUT I also know misery loves company and misery gets clicks.
I was just at a film festival with thousands of film lovers and filmmakers. It was magnetic. I talked to some many writers, producers, directors, and actors who are MAKING SHIT HAPPEN. You can choose to doom scroll or listen to "what happens when the industry dies" podcasts, or you can surround yourself with people who are kicking the door down.
Choose what you consume wisely because it will be what you become.
Cafe queue. Toddler mum in front just missed out on the last sausage roll. One more tiny disappointment she didn't need. Broke my heart. It was like watching #Motherland if directed by Ken Loach.

Meet this year’s DNMT New Comedy Writing competition winner and runners-up, Paul Carey, Lewis Brierly and Indigo Hinton
Lovely news! My TV comedy pilot Facing up (still available, wink, wink) was just selected by The @BroadHumor Film Festival. It's a festival dedicated to comedy films written and made by women so it feels like a great fit. Delighted to be included!

I’m always impressed when a journalist can listen to me waffling for sixty minutes without making a point and then turn it into an article.
