What's uniquely hard about running a startup is that you don't merely have to endure adversity, but have to solve intellectually difficult problems while doing so. It's like trying to find integrals while being chased by a lion.

It’s rare that a YC Demo Day pitch ends up being exactly what a company does, but @HarmanSN laid out their master plan back in 2018. I’ll never forget it.

Couldn’t agree with this more.
I think everyone should go to SDR school, especially new founders and folks not in sales at all One of my lessons on Day 1: Never start a cold outreach with "I came across your profile on LinkedIn"

If true, this is absolutely horrific. I’m filled with such anger just reading these things. Cannot fathom what the families of those sweet children that were murdered are going through. How is this possible? Those innocent and defenseless children deserved so much better.

Couldn’t agree more. There is an ‘extra’ layer of compounding that vertical sw businesses see if they are successful in owning more and more workflows in their market.
We're just beginning the age of Vertical SaaS Every sizeable industry will have a HubSpot of Our Vertical, but some are just getting started A bit of a bummer with the downturn, we may not get to see the ServiceTitan and MindBody IPOs until next year Two to learn from

Heartbreaking. This elderly Sikh man was attacked from behind while walking to temple in NY early this morning. Please share and reach out if you may be able to assist.
📍Richmond Hill, New York “This morning I was going to Gurdwara saw him sitting outside and 2 uncles were there assisting him. He was attacked from behind. Bapu Ji said he just closed his eyes when he got attacked and started crying. 1/3

Thanks @paulg! I vividly remember our first meeting and doing vertebrae with you in front of the batch!
What great news. I remember this startup very vividly. What energy those two have.

This is great.
The best leaders are (both) demanding and supportive. (As a bonus, I would bet this is the only thing you'll read today that talks about Mike Moritz, my parents, and Game of Thrones) rkg.blog/demanding.php

There's never one big thing that makes a startup successful. It's the million little tiny wins that add up and compound over time.

how to not f*ck up relationships (in business & life)

Think twice about opportunities that offer more status but less freedom. Winning accolades and influence is rarely worth it if you lose the ability to control your time and express your voice. Happiness hinges on maintaining freedom. Success is gaining degrees of freedom.

We're ceding far too much authority to people who are good at attracting attention. At every level of society. Quiet competence is in decline.
