An interesting and thought-provoking morning at the Glioblastoma Summit in NYC, sharing our research on melatonin biology and potential new therapeutic approaches. A truly devastating disease and a reminder of the urgent need for new treatments. #Glioblastoma #BrainCancer

Vitamin D more than doubled the "cure" rate in cancer. 50,000 IU per week. >2X as likely to have no evidence of cancer by the end. All patients were on chemo, and the response was essentially the same for those deficient vs not. Vitamin D seems to have a direct anti-proliferation property on cancer cells. *Cure meaning pathological complete response (in other words, no cancerous cells found upon inspection).
Cancer is complicated. Unfortunately, most treatments are very simple. These are the 10 hallmarks of cancer, and what I would do to address each one.

UCSF’s Kevan Shokat, PhD, just won the $1M Stephenson Global Prize for research in pancreatic cancer. He cracked KRAS, a cancer driver long considered “undruggable.” Drugs built on his work now treat lung and pancreatic cancer. ow.ly/xVlw50ZRSXh

people aren’t celebrating this pancreatic cancer breakthrough enough. it should be international news
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen: a standing ovation for the full Daraxonrasib results I feel inspired and energised, to put it mildly — we have a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer now, and nothing is undruggable anymore

"The Longest Living Humans Have High Cholesterol...The Sweden Study Found Those Who Reach The Age Of 100 All Had High Cholesterol." Dr Ben Bikman, PhD "Cholesterol Is A Molecule Of Life & LDL Is The Unsung Hero Of The Immune System." "High Cholesterol Leads To A Longer Life." The longitudinal Swedish AMORIS cohort study—which has a 35-year follow-up period—has shown that high total cholesterol is linked with reaching 100 years of age. The decades long study on 812,073 participants showed that high levels of total cholesterol & iron, with low levels of glucose were linked to becoming a centenarian. Dr Uffe Ravnskov, MD PhD & Dr Malcolm Kendrick found the same evidence, in their numerous publications on cholesterol & longevity. The research showed that those with the highest LDL-C, lived the longest. LDL is a transport molecule for cholesterol & a vital immune system regulator. Lowering LDL levels with medications drugs does not lengthen life...it shortens it. For instance, documentation shows that when LDL drops below 70 mg/dL, hemorrhagic strokes (brain bleeds) increase at 3X the rate. When cholesterol is lowered below 180 mg/dL with medication, the rate of cancer & dementia increases drastically. Total cholesterol that stays below 150 mg/dL, chronic illnesses like cancer & autoimmune diseases develop. Every Cell Must Have Cholesterol In Order To Perform These Bodily Functions: Building block of all cells. Creation of mitochondria. Absorption of Vitamins A, D, E & K. Critical for digestion & bile acids. Immune system protection against infections. Protection against bacteria, pathogens & viruses. Protect against cancer. Prevent depression & suicide. Protect against chemicals, toxins & heavy metals. Prevent dementia & cognitive decline. Protect against all cause mortality. Production of all steroid hormones. Protect bone density & prevent osteoporosis. Protect against stroke & heart disease. Important for lungs & airways. The Way Of Life To Keep Glucose Low & Cholesterol High: A low carbohydrate diet prioritizing nutrient dense animal foods, eliminating harmful seed oils, sugar & processed foods provides the best healthy cholesterol profile. This approach keeps Triglycerides low & HDL high, which is one of the best Biomarkers for Cardiovascular health. TG/HDL ratio of less than 1.5 is optimal. 👇Sweden AMORIS Research 35 Year Follow Up👇 pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/article… 👇The Higher Your LDL, The Longer You Live👇 meddocsonline.org/annals-of-… 👇Low LDL Causes 3X Hemorrhagic Strokes👇 neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN… Speaker: Dr Ben Bikman. The right way to remember Jim Watson is to remember him honestly. He was a central figure in one the 20th century's most impactful scientific discoveries, in the creation of modern molecular biology, in the beginning of the genomics era, and (less notably) to shaping the structures of contemporary academic departments and institutions. His actions with respect to Rosalind Franklin are certainly not beyond reproach, but the reduction of him in many peoples' minds to someone who stole her discovery is unfair and does little service to the truth. He could be charming and insightful in person, but also quick to demean people around him for seemingly no other reason than that he could. He spoke out frequently against unscientific thinking, yet also frequently said things that were unambiguously - and it often seemed intentionally - sexist, racist and anti-Semitic. The talk I saw him give at Berkeley 20 ish years ago, while perhaps designed primarily to provoke, was a masterclass in how to undermine your own reputation as a person and a thinkier. His demise was sad, but also self-inflicted in a way that someone as smart as he thought he was should have known to avoid. I know many won't mourn him - and that is fine - but I will because I think he and his generation of scientists made science a more interesting - if not always a better - place.
