Investing in the health workforce is a win for everyone #healthworkers
Delighted to join the panel on Workforce Development at the Forbes Middle East – Healthcare Innovation Circle in Riyadh 🇸🇦. Health care is a major driver of economies and investing in the health workforce is an integral part of this reality. In addition to training and licensing it also involves investing in research and development, manufacturing medical products, strengthening regulatory authorities, and improving the work conditions of the health workforce itself. I urge governments in our @WHOEMRO Region to elevate health care to the top of their national agendas. Check out the website on our flagship initiatives including investing in a resilient and sustainable health workforce: emro.who.int/about-who/regio…. @Forbes_MENA_ #Partners4Health

“Health is a human right, not a cause for poverty” #HealthForAll #UHCDay2024
Shocking fact: 1 in 8 people in the Eastern Mediterranean Region face financial hardship for seeking treatment, spending over 10% of their resources on essential health care. Health is a human right, not a cause for poverty. This Universal Health Coverage Day we call on governments to ensure no one is impoverished for seeking health care. Investing in financial protection for #UHC improves health, builds social resilience and strengthens economies through greater productivity and workforce participation. #UHCDay2024 #UHCDay

It cannot be about individual resilience… Health systems and also education systems need to do more and to do better @DrMeredithFN @cindyft1
To prevent a health care worker exodus spurred by burnout, experts say that the emphasis needs to shift from individual resilience to broader system-level improvements. Several new national initiatives are beginning to chart a path. ja.ma/4aEuYVD
