Sometimes the best days are the ones you do not plan. As a founder and CEO, there is rarely such a thing as a full day off. When my oldest son was not feeling well and our nanny was away, I found myself with an unexpected day at home with my boys. I took a few work calls and then brought them to one of my favorite places in Los Angeles, the @TheHuntington . We moved at a slower pace and spent time in the sun. Research shows that unplanned days off often rank high on the happiness scale. I understand that now. We do not always get to choose the timing. But sometimes, the interruption is the gift. It reminded me how important it is to slow down, be present, and truly cherish the time we have with the people who matter most.
