Ok this is the best example I have seen so far of why Opus 5.5 hits different. Watch this. The attention to detail and execution is beyond Astra and fable, and it's affordable.
What the actual fuck. Opus 5.5 ultra created this masterpiece. 4 agents and an hour and a half later. Everything from scratch, no AI voice API used... this is it...

Something interesting occuring in AI compute. Latest GPU rental rates are Flat and declining. This means the trillions spent on the AI buildout by hyperscalers and neoclouds has caught up to the demand. Two ways I look at this, they built out insanely fast that it sufficently serves demand now or there is a ceiling for demand.

Opus 5.5 is miles ahead in capability than gpt 6 sol. Anthropic absolutely cooked with this model

Here is the problem with company valuations that are made behind closed to when they are released to the public. The public isn't interested in the prices when they are drastically overvalued, with no room to grow.
🦔SoftBank's data center subsidiary SB Energy delayed its $50 billion IPO this week after bankers couldn't find enough buyers. The company has $439 billion in contracts with OpenAI but only $139 million in revenue and zero operational data centers. It needs $174 billion in debt to build what it's contracted for. Today Nvidia bought an additional $1.5 billion in nonvoting SB Energy shares at a 10% discount, bringing its total to $3 billion. Nvidia also guarantees up to $105 billion of OpenAI's lease at the Ohio facility. Holtec and Aggreko, two other AI infrastructure companies, also delayed their listings the same week. My Take Nvidia just put $3 billion into a company whose entire business exists to buy Nvidia's chips. The shares are nonvoting so Nvidia gets the upside without any governance responsibility if it falls apart. The chip supplier is propping up its own customer's IPO because if SB Energy can't go public, the whole Stargate buildout slows down and Nvidia sells fewer chips. Son has $65 billion committed to OpenAI and just borrowed $11 billion more in junk bonds at 8.2% to keep it going. SB Energy was supposed to validate that bet with public market capital and the public market said no. Three AI infrastructure companies tried to go public in the same month and all three either delayed or slowed their listings. Every private valuation in this space was set between willing parties behind closed doors. An IPO is the first time the numbers face an open market, and the open market isn't buying at these prices. Not a great day to be in the open ai camp. Anthropic absolutely cooked with opus 5.5

How is this even possible. Opus 5.5 scores 58 and gpt 6 sol scores 48. I thought these models were suppose to be on the same level 🤔

Gpt 6 sol is half the price of gpt 5.6 sol. Let that sink in. Usage might not suck now

Opus 5.5 and gpt 6 sol on the same day! You know the stakes are high. It's war

Opus 5.5 is an absolute token monster. Literally blows everything out of the water
As expected, unfortunately the only bad thing about the new Opus is it's a token-gobbling monster. Uses the most tokens per Intelligence Index task of any model benchmarked. The price cut makes more sense here!

Personal AI agents are starting to be adopted. But it's mostly from the AI x community. How long do you think normies will realise the benefits of AI and have some applications in their life it can help with? Comparing it to the landlines phone adoption. That took 40 to 50 years for people to realise it was essential. For smartphones it took 15 to 20 years.

How can OpenAI and Anthropic maintain their competitive advantage if Chinese models achieve near-parity at a fraction of the cost?

Open AI has a 6% paid user conversion. For every 100 free chat gpt users. 6 are paying for it. When you combine this with their 70% computer margin, meaning for every dollar spent on compute, it only costs them 30 cents to provide the compute and electricity. These numbers are very good when you ignore the other costs of employee salary/equity, training runs and corporate overhead.
46
Meta beat Open AI to the personal AI. Muse is the best UI implementation for a personal AI.

This is awkward. Anthropic has taken out a 15 billion dollar credit line to pay their compute and contract costs

So Anthropic is telling everyone to slow down. But full speed ahead with the IPO.
ANTHROPIC HAS CHOSEN THE NASDAQ FOR ITS IPO LISTING- BUSINESS INSIDER

If DeepSeek can deliver this. It will drastically change the AI market. Fingers crossed they stick the landing
DeepSeek Code 2.0 Leak: Coming Soon 🔥 >expected to beat Mythos 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra >September release window reportedly targeted >Computer use expected to be a top priority >Expected to remain open-weight >1M-token context window reportedly carried over >Rumored 3T+ parameter model

Hey China This would be a great time to release a kickass model that beats the top US models

Holy shit, I just realised Dario and Jacob Coxon have the same glasses. No wonder they speak the same fear mongering tune
Dario doesn't want the wrong people working on AI. This is what this is about. Label AI dangerous so only a select few can work on it. Ban open weight models which is there competition.

Could you imagine if it was China that was calling for an AI slow down. They would get laughed out the doors. You should question why Dario, Sam amd Elon want this slow down. It's not to your benefit, it's just for their investment
