Just returned from a 2 week tailored birding tour of Morocco with moroccobirdingtrips.com/ Our excellent birdguide Hamed found all my target species, and I had great views of the very rare and elusive Small Buttonquail and a family of the magnificent Pharaoh Eagle Owl.

My fourth trip added a dozen species to my Moroccan list. 234 species now (excluding Western Sahara). Atlas Wheatear, Atlas Flycatcher & Maghreb Owl North African endemics. Last will be a subspecies again in ten days.... Also this apparent Mediterranean Flycatcher from Ifrane. π

A pleasure again to stay at Gite du Barrage, Ben Simm again. Of course, change is evident everywhere in the world but a stunning area where wildlife persists. A beautiful encounter with Scops Owl was a highlight. π @trapsite @Hamidmoroco

This may have gone "zit" but it was still a Fan-tailed Warbler in my opinion on 7th May. A species that is clearly doing very well in the coastal fields of increased cereal production south of El Jadidia, Morocco. @trapsite @Hamidmoroco

With @trapsite, now overlooking the Straits. We have introduced the excellent @Hamidmoroco to a new site at Jbel Moussa. At least 3 Ruppell's Vultures with the Griffons. Migrating Honey Buzzards always a delight in this beautiful country. Tomorrow we head to Ifrane. π
