The hard part of a buying plan is never the plan. It is the weeks where you want to override it. A schedule keeps working on the days conviction does not, and it takes out the one input most people are worst at: timing. The DCA calculator on the site runs any schedule against real history: halvingreport.com

The most underrated habit in Bitcoin is looking things up yourself. Paste a transaction ID into an explorer and you can see the inputs, the outputs, the fee paid, and the block it landed in. No support ticket, no waiting, no taking anyone's word for it. Explorer is on the site if you don't have one you like: halvingreport.com

He invented Hashcash, the proof of work behind Bitcoin mining. He runs Blockstream. And in April 2026 he had to say it again: "I'm not satoshi." Bitcoin OGs #8: @adam3us halvingreport.com/blog/bitco…

Five years ago today, the first US bitcoin ETF started trading. ProShares' BITO held futures contracts, not bitcoin. Spot ETFs didn't show up until January 2024. Wall Street got exposure. It still didn't get your keys. That part stays yours.

You can draw the entire future of Bitcoin's supply on one curve, and it has not moved since 2009. Every 210,000 blocks the subsidy halves. 50, 25, 12.5, 6.25, 3.125, and down until the last fraction of a satoshi sometime in the 2140s. The visualizer on the site walks the whole curve: halvingreport.com

May 2023: "The halving has a huge effect." 2024: new all time highs. Receipts.

The question most single signature setups cannot answer: what happens if you don't come home. Multisig splits the keys so that no one location, and no one person, is the whole plan. Two of three is the common shape. It is more setup than a seed on steel. It is also the only version that outlives you.

Why cap a community at 150 people? Dunbar's number. Your brain can only really keep up with about 150 relationships, online or off. @TomPeterGill explains.

What the halving changes for you as a holder: nothing. Your coins do not move. Your keys do not change. No balance gets cut. What changes is how fast new supply arrives. 3.125 BTC a block now, 1.5625 after block 1,050,000. It is a miner revenue event that everyone else feels second hand.

Why do so many Bitcoiners end up in Chiang Mai? @JimmyKostro: developers, sovereign individuals, and a community that keeps pulling people in. "Just come and see for yourself."

Bitcoin can say "not yet." A transaction can be locked so it's only valid after a certain block height or date. No escrow agent, no reminder email. The network just refuses it until the time comes. It's how inheritance plans and payment channels work without trusting anyone to wait.

Old clip - the kid is now in university so no more allowance for him :) Allowance sats went to @AquaBitcoin and longer term savings to a multisig using @nunchuk_io
Replying to @shaunsomers
@shaunsomers pays his son's allowance in sats. Started at 7,500 sats. Back then that was about $2. The kid is still stacking.

There is no such thing as the mempool. Every node keeps its own list of unconfirmed transactions, built from what reached it and filtered by its own rules. They mostly agree. They are never identical. When a fee estimator disagrees with what you are looking at, that is usually why.

June 2023. @ktreywalsh on the SEC: "They're running out of credible arguments that would stand up in court." January 2024: spot Bitcoin ETFs approved. Called it.

Mark Karpelès was convicted of falsifying records, not embezzlement. That detail gets garbled constantly. Bitcoin OGs #6: the Mt. Gox collapse, the Oct 31 repayment deadline, and what @MagicalTux builds now. halvingreport.com/blog/bitco…

Your hardware wallet does not hold your bitcoin. The coins live on the chain, in the ledger every node keeps. The device holds the keys that move them, and it signs without ever handing those keys to your computer. Lose the device, keep the seed, nothing is lost. Lose the seed and the device cannot help you.
