With over RM 450 million in assets under management, we have spent years bringing institutional-grade digital asset investment solutions to both individuals and institutions.
Today, we are extending that reach through advisers with the launch of Halogen Partner Portfolios.
With Halogen Partner Portfolios, licensed financial advisers, Corporate Unit Trust Advisers (CUTAs) and appointed Marketing Representatives (MRs) can:
- Design or offer access to multi-asset strategies (e.g. bonds, equities and digital assets) tailored to different risk profiles.
- Support clients onboarding and facilitate portfolio access via the Halogen ecosystem, keeping the investment experience fully digital and accessible for investors throughout.
- Set custom fee structures per portfolio and access reporting through the platform.
Throughout, portfolios are managed at the discretion of Halogen Capital’s fund management team, with algorithmic rebalancing carried out under our Digital Investment Management (DIM) license.
The result?
Advisers and appointed MRs get to spend more time managing client relationships, while we handle the operational side of managing and rebalancing portfolios.
Thank you to @theedgemalaysia for the coverage!
As more stablecoins launch in the region, people are asking: Does Malaysia need its own?
The better question is what purpose each one serves, whether it is for cross-border Web3 payments, commercial trades, or institutional fund settlement.
For example, retail and SME users in Malaysia settle everyday payments instantly through DuitNow, but that’s not the case for larger scale settlements among institutions yet. That’s a gap UMYR aims to fill.
As more local financial institutions deal in tokenised funds and securities, these products need a Ringgit-backed settlement asset (i.e. tokenised deposits and/or stablecoins) built for institutional-scale transactions.
At Halogen Capital, we’ll continue to explore new ways to make Malaysia’s capital markets more efficient, including how assets are settled.

#LIDAC KL 2026, a wrap 📸
From the announcement of our collaboration with @HalogenCapital and Kenanga Investors Berhad to conversations on compliance, tokenisation, custody, and stablecoins, yesterday made one thing clear: Malaysia's digital asset industry is no longer just building foundations; it's building institutional-grade infrastructure.
We also saw how real-world assets and tokenised funds are pushing blockchain beyond crypto trading into real financial use cases, while stablecoins continue to prove themselves as the practical bridge between digital assets and traditional finance.
Compliance and custody standards are being tested in practice, not just discussed in theory. And with regulators, banks, asset managers, custodians, and builders all in the same room, having the same conversation, it's clear the industry is maturing together, not in silos.
Grateful to everyone who joined us, and see you at the next edition of #LIDAC.
Today at LIDAC 2026, we signed an Intent to Collaborate (ItC) with @LunoGlobal and Kenanga Investors Berhad to explore UMYR, a Ringgit-pegged stablecoin issued by Luno Malaysia as an on-chain settlement instrument for tokenised money market funds.
As Malaysia’s early adopter of fund tokenisation, we often question how we can make institutional-scale financial settlements faster, yet highly secure.
Tokenised fund products already exist in Malaysia's market today. The next step would be an institutionally focused settlement layer under the Securities Commission Malaysia’s regulatory framework.
With this, we’ll look at how UMYR can be used to settle fund subscriptions and redemptions, as a step toward advancing Malaysia’s capital markets on-chain.
We are proud to take this step forward, alongside Luno Malaysia and Kenanga Investors Berhad.

We officially kicked off #LIDACKL today, and what a morning.
Our @LunoGlobal Malaysia Country Manager, Scarlett Chai, opened the day, setting the tone for a packed programme of conversations on the future of digital assets.
A key moment came with the signing of our Intent to Collaborate alongside Kenanga and @HalogenCapital, bringing three teams together around a shared vision for the industry’s next chapter.
Our CEO, James Lanigan, then closed out the morning session with a keynote exploring the institutional shift taking place across digital assets.
Not hype. Just a closer look at where the industry stands today, and where it’s heading next.

🇲🇾 63 years ago, Malaysia was formed. As our founding father once said, nation-building has never been an easy journey.
Today, Malaysia has grown from a young, developing nation into one of Asia's most diverse economies. This all came from the spirit of resilience and togetherness, carried by generations of Malaysians.
At Halogen Capital, we carry that same spirit of building together, and we are proud to be made by Malaysians, in Malaysia.
Selamat Hari Malaysia!

Why did BTC jump from $62,000 to $80,000 in August 2026?
BTC surged around 25% in a single month, largely on the back of the US Treasury doubling, and then tripling its bond buyback programme.
Naturally, many investors are asking: Is this rally durable, or just a reactionary bounce that fades once the Treasury steps back?
Here’s the bigger picture:
- The tripled Treasury buyback was to stabilise a rising, shaky US debt market.
- Currency debasement fear comes next. The markets worry that rising debt is managed by printing money and diluting the currency's value.
In this environment, BTC's fixed supply of 21 million is one reason institutions treat it as a debasement hedge. August saw $3.52 billion of net inflows into BTC exchange-traded funds, the largest monthly figure year-to-date.
Today, publicly traded and private companies, ETFs and countries hold 3.9 million BTC. That’s 18% of the total BTC supply.

🇲🇾 Selamat Hari Kebangsaan ke-69, Malaysia!
National Day is more than just remembering independence. It is also a celebration of how far Malaysia has come.
This year, let's look at how much Malaysia's financial landscape has grown.
Other than regulating digital assets early, Malaysia became home to the world's first Shariah-compliant Bitcoin fund.
Halogen Capital is Malaysia’s first licensed digital asset fund manager, and we’re proud to be part of the story too.
