An incredible gold to end the Asian Games with a thumping victory in the men’s hockey - with this we have achieved our second best medal haul ever in the Asian Games. Many firsts, first time both men and women have won the gold in hockey. Kudos to @TheHockeyIndia - was an honor to hang the gold medals on our warriors. A fantatsic tournamnet conducted with utmost sportsman spirit. Well done to @FIH_Hockey

Returning to India after spending the last 4 days at Aichi Nagoya at the Asian Games @AsianGames_2026 Had the opportunity to witness many medals but more importantly had the chance to spend time with many athletes, coaches and administrators. One thing is very clear India came into the Asian Games extremely well prepared. The amount of focus on sports science, nutrition and the amount of work done by each of the federations, SAI and the sports ministry has never been seen before. Kudos to them and the work ethic of all involved. Every athlete and administrator who i met and spoke to had come here to compete, to win medals and not merely to participate. The number of Personal bests was also something to be proud of. Sure the 85 medals are less than the 107 of 3 years ago but barring a few sports India achieved its goals. For all those calling for an introspection after these games i call on all of you to introspect and see what you are doing to help India perform better. I am proud of India’s showing in Nagoya and am enthused that all of us who work daily in Indian sport will learn from this and will be even better prepared heading into @LA28 - the goal is clear at least 20 medals at LA28.

Antim and Aman in the finals, Deepak and Sagar in the bronze medal fight. If things go well we can finish 4th on the medals table Come on India! @AsianGames_2026

Had the honor and the privilege to award the gold medals to our hockey warriors who brought home the gold after 44 years and qualified for LA - was a true honor and i would like to thank @FIH_Hockey for bestowing it on me. To watch the Indian women defend for their lives and beat a very strong China will forever be a great memory. Very happy that through @TheHockeyIndia League team Soorma we @IIS_Vijayanagar @jswsports have played a role in this. Huge credit to the fantatsic work being done by @TheHockeyIndia - well played girls
