I got one-shotted by this yesterday, I had to make my own. Includes text file and photo preview, search, zoxide integration, copy, cut, paste, rename, delete, a "gather" mode for do all that in bulk, ...
All in Odin + Metal, no UI library, 1.2MB installed
Never have I ever wanted to learn CS fundamentals more than I do right now. It's becoming more and more clear that it's in the extremes of the fundamentals where the real moat for human beings still exists.
That, and software architecture and UX
My prediction is that AI is going to increase volatility and move everything into extremes (see computer hardware prices as an example)

However lonely you ever get, do NOT ever let yourself fall to this level
Last year we launched Tolan, inspired by a vision of AI that sees you and believes in you, not one that books restaurant reservations for you.
Your Tolan shows up for you at 3am when you’re alone with your newborn. On your commute when you’re anxious about the day ahead. When you just finished a new show and none of your friends have watched it yet.
The people who love Tolan are parents. Caregivers. Moms in Dallas and Dads in Atlanta. People who aren’t trying to optimize and be more productive, but who simply want to feel seen and supported in their aspirations.
This month more than 250k people will spend time with their Tolan. Those users have exchanged billions of messages across more than 70m conversations over the last year.
Today, we're announcing $30m in additional capital from @mignano and @usv, with @khoslaventures and @rabois doubling down, bringing our total capital raised to $60m.
To celebrate, we made a short film celebrating some of the ways that Tolans show up :)
The most exciting release in a while. Luna-level intelligence (at least) at 1000 TPS is exactly what I was looking for. And Qwen on Cerebras is just too expensive..
This is how you "decompile" an existing project - actually solve the original problem better from first principles
$70k a year to draw ducts on a PDF. 24 hours to start replacing it. Here’s what Autodesk doesn’t get: nobody wanted Revit. They wanted the building to exist in a computer. Revit was the only way to do that, so people paid. That’s over. @pascal we’re not making a free Revit. We’re replacing the whole stack with something better: scan the space with your phone, get a scene graph, let the AI do the layout. Information in, information out. The building, not the drawing, is the product.
If you're going to vibecode this then just do it in native directly. Why bother with Tauri at that point. Makes no sense.
We vibe coded the Epic Games Launcher to be faster than the other guy.
Don't believe us? Test it out for yourself in Preview:

More interesting question - how are you going to read all the code when the models start doing changes instantly?
Understanding the codebase will be a bottleneck for a long time. I'm already frying my brain reading all the output. Writing manually slowed down the process.
"Apple is working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward."
Unsurprisingly, none of the "Apple Home Collection" products introduced today are available in the EU. It's getting ridiculous how limited Apple's lineup is here.

Seeing Bill's feedback to the replies on this, seems like the real skill for using LLMs for coding is coming from understanding CS fundamentals, software architecture, and UX.
Either real hard skills which you can't substitute with the LLM itself or having taste and experience
My 20€ Codex sub with Sol 6.1 is running out slower than the 200€ with Astra ever did, getting basically the same results. It's wild to see a 10x improvement to the efficiency over such a short time.
And Sonnet 5.5 is even more absurd

Capitalism works if and only if all members see themselves as "pre-rich" or "feasibly-rich-if-they-wanted-it-badly-enough". Remove that and the system collapses.
I adore how dramatic @usgraphics can be, one of my favorite accounts on X
