Your math is wrong
Doing some quick math, if we expect total payroll expenditures to increase by 9% by 2027, total expenditures would be ~$7.05B. Only way to get that in a cap/floor system this wide is with a $300M cap and a $200M floor

I think over the last few years, the Yankees have been in a bit of a rebuild. They’ve been reluctant to part with their top prospects and most of the trades they’ve made have been for players with multiple years of control. Getting ready for a Post-Judge Yankees.
"The Yankees don’t rebuild. They don’t try to stockpile high draft picks because they don’t get them. They draft 25th to 30th every year, so they can’t rebuild the farm system as easily as other teams. The Dodgers pick in the same spots, but they always have one of the best farm systems."

350/8 would beat the pitcher AAV record (Scherzer 43.3) and the Total $ record (Yamamoto 325)

The Dodgers and Yankees big free agents are Freeman (Braves) Shohei (Angels) Tucker (Cubs) Snell (Giants) Edwin (Mets) Bellinger (Cubs) Fried (Braves) Cole (Astros) Rodon (Giants) Where are the small markets?

Am I missing the big Pirates star in the 2020s that you haven’t been able to extend? Reynolds, Hayes, Keller and Griffin were all extended

Which competent MLB orgs can’t compete?

Shohei was a complete non-factor in the world series. The only reason you won that series was Freddie miraculously healing his ankle injury and coming up with every clutch hit possible

We don’t have to pretend like that team was better than this one because variance was on their side that year. Baseball is random. That’s all it is

I mean it’s literally the exact same lineup except with Gavin Lux at 2B and the “nasty bullpen” was Ben Casparius, Daniel Hudson, Landon Knack, Brent Honeywell, and Ryan Brasier lmao

They also almost lost in the NLDS and were a Freddie Freeman miracle and a 5-0 comeback away from being down 3-2 to the Yankees

2024 they had Jack Flaherty as the No. 2. 2025 had to deal with the wild card

The funniest part of this is that this year was by far the Dodgers best chance at winning the world series of the past three years. You just cannot predict playoff baseball.

Is Jake Bauers why they won the most games of any team in the league this year and last year?

If I recall correctly, Joe Girardi and David Cone in the booth were shocked at how unprepared the Yankees were for the bunt here considering Walls and the Rays do this exact play all the time. If it’s not on Jazz, it’s on Boone for calling the wrong play here.
