Brian Griese texted Brad Nessler this pic of Lloyd Carr at today's game. 😀

We debate the 24-team playoff, whether Tommy Carr will see the field, and somehow talk ourselves into another Michigan win.

I think the thing people miss when talking about an expanded playoff is how the end of the regular season was part of the playoff. This was do or die, win or go home. Both teams knew it, both fan bases knew it. It was one of the most anticipated games ever. You lose that now

Michigan’s 3-2. Fans are rightfully emotional. The offense isn’t moving the ball. QB play needs to be better. The run game needs to be better. All of these things can be true. But at some point, you have to stop blaming the symptoms and identify the root cause.
This is college football. You need the talent, but you need the leadership to empower the talent. There were 3 current NFL Head Coaches empowering the talent in 2021-23. One is the current Super Bowl champ, with 2 other former Michigan staffers as ST Coordinator and Defensive Run Game Coordinator. Right now, we’re not seeing anything close to that.
There’s coaching malpractice on a weekly basis, and it’s in every area. Clock management, lack of situational awareness, and making things extremely easy for the opposing play callers. 🧵

Michigan has much bigger offensive problems that a QB change coming out of the bye won't fix. The playcalling is trying too hard to be Utah with a team that clearly isn't that. Banged-up OL can't block anyone right now; you're running east-west with north-south guys.

In today's loss at Minnesota, Michigan mustered just 180 yards of offense and 3.7 yards per play.
The last time the Wolverines performed so poorly on both fronts was in 2014, when it had 171 yards and 3.3 yards per play in a 30-14 loss to ... Minnesota.
That was 152 games ago
