They came here legally, they work incredibly hard looking after some of the most vulnerable people in our society, they pay tax and contribute to the system. Shabana Mahmood needs to listen. And honestly, I struggle to understand how Andy Burnham squares this with saying he cares about social care and these workers, while supporting a political direction that cuts migration and makes settlement harder for the very people keeping care services going.
