We think it's too chaotic (and ambitious) to create a generic framework when long-tail risk is difficult to underwrite!
Perhaps focusing on a niche market (for us, it's hackathons) and finding a model that best suits that niche would prove fruitful!
You're absolutely right! But the game theory of such a market is too chaotic to reasonably analyze! So we're experimenting with real USDC, on HackBet!
To address your concerns, we've capped per wallet stake to 250USDC and implemented an unstaking fee to disincentivize gaming.
Cool suggestion. But defining slop on an ad-hoc basis is not gonna scale with 3k submissions. AI perhaps? But that'll also mean edge cases need to be considered.

Yes but existing solutions (aka binary prediction markets) are inherently incompatible for hackathons. (thin liquidity, hundreds of participants, profit focused)
HackBet uses pari-mutuels to get around this, along with several other features, to align builder incentives!
