Ghana’s Minister for Communication Digital Technology and Innovation Hon. @samgeorgegh highlighted Healthcare, Agriculture, and Education as priority sectors for AI innovations at the Africa Fintech Summit.
In a convo on the sidelines with Emmanuel Lubanzadio - Africa lead for OpenAI, Larry Cooke - Binance Africa Head of Legal and Akosua Annobil - lead organizer at Tech In Ghana, I emphasized that Healthcare is the most valuable use case for technology innovation, that true progress would require a trifecta: Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain. I also highlighted efforts by @afri_healthtech in structures for responsible and inclusive innovation in healthcare.

Africa will host over a quarter of the world’s population in less than three decades. Preparing a skilled workforce to build for this immense growth isn’t just an opportunity—it is a necessity.
We gathered young innovators from various universities and tasked them with hacking real-world issues in healthcare.

AI is major tech, it is disrupting the structure of human life in many ways. Generative AI, in particular, is redefining the standard of human life and highlighting the importance of it’s predecessors: data and AI.
Across the startup ecosystem, AI is being used in different forms to improve and deliver services, and the healthcare innovators are up and doing. I will highlight the work by innovators like @drdogood_health @minoHealth and other partners utilizing the power of AI and GenAI to disrupt the access to and delivery of healthcare.
I will also share how AI is analyzing existing data to help discover patterns then attempt to predict the future, and offering better accuracy in prescriptions by implementation with accurate genomic data.

After hanging up my coding boots for over a decade and taking on more non-coding partnership roles, I've learned that coding alone isn't enough. That beyond building the right team and securing funding, a key ingredient for success is a palpable obsession to solve real problems.
This involves a mix of failures, learnings, iterations, invaluable customer feedback, sustainable impact metrics, and strong value networks.
Hackathons and sprints taught me to value progress over perfection and to intentionally oversimplify solutions rather than complicate them.
We’re setting the stage to unearth the next generation of innovators.
