You've probably heard of Albuquerque's famous hot air balloon festival, which happens around this time every year.
There were a couple of frightening moments at this year's event when balloons crashed into power lines.
Thankfully, no one was injured.

🎉BEST OF LUCK, MEKHI! 🥳
We want to take a moment to say "thank you" and "good luck" to Mekhi Simpson, who was in our Pipeline to Success Program.
Mekhi's time with us has ended and he has decided to serve our country in the U.S. Army.
Our friends at Hartselle Utilities brought this to the APACT meeting earlier this year. A stuffed otter wearing a visor, gold chain, and--most importantly--an 811 t-shirt. If that doesn't remind you to #Call811 before you dig, nothing will. #KnowWhatsBelow #CallBeforeYouDig

⏳TODAY IN HISTORY⏳On this day in 1945, Percy Spencer of #Raytheon filed a patent for his "Method of Treating Foodstuffs," which we now call the microwave oven. Check out this HUTV Short for tips on how to make your microwave more #energyefficient: brnw.ch/21x6gnf

David Bowie famously sang about "ch-ch-ch-ch-changes." And while many feel it was an artistic manifesto about personal reinvention, we like to think it was also about changing your HVAC filter once a month. Doing so helps your unit last longer and run more efficiently.

It looks like one last round of heat is on the way. @NWSHuntsville is forecasting temps in the low 90s Thu & Fri with heat indexes in the mid to upper 90s.
So be sure to use fans, close curtains and blinds, and keep doors and windows closed to control energy use.

🚨SCAM ALERT🚨
We are receiving reports of customers being targeted in a disconnection deception scam, where a caller states your service is about to be disconnected unless you make immediate payment. If you receive this type of call, just hang up.

September has been one for the record books! ☀️
During some of the hottest days of the entire summer, our team worked hard to deliver record megawatts across miles of transmission lines in our seven-state region. 💪
This month, our team met a +30K megawatt demand on 17 days in September – shattering the previous record for September set in 2007 with one day with a 30K megawatt demand! ⚡
This isn’t possible without a dedicated team at our generation facilities and transmission crews working to keep you cool!
Today is #NationalGoodNeighborDay, a day to celebrate the value of being a great neighbor. In that spirit, we want to remind you about Project Share, which provides utility assistance to your neighbors in need.
