I hate that today’s fans just can’t see or understand that the radar reading is 3 or more mph faster than 10-15 years ago.
When I played we understood that the older guns were slower. Why can’t this generation?

Arizona is the only program to reach both a Final Four and the College World Series in the last two years. We may not have the biggest resources, but we have the right people: Coach Brennan is 10–2 in the last 12, Chip Hale is an Arizona guy, Brennan was a Wildcat GA and his wife went to Zona, and Tommy Lloyd loves this place. Breaking: the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade WR Marvin Harrison, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
The team informed Harrison this morning that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game vs Detroit as details of the trade are finalized.

At some point, baseball has to get back to valuing ballplayers and not just numbers on a screen. Give me the Freddie Freemans, the Buster Poseys, Hunter Pences, Pablo Sandovals, Michael Youngs, Ian Kinslers of the world. Guys who just flat out know how to play the game. Everyone wants to talk launch angle and exit velo, but what happened to valuing a quality at bat?” The 9-pitch battle that might end in an out, but forces a pitcher to show everything he’s got.
The guy who hits behind the runner, takes what’s given, or just refuses to give a pitcher an easy inning. Those at-bats might not look sexy in the box score, but they show up in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Some of these dudes could absolutely leave the yard too. That’s the point. They weren’t one-dimensional. Somewhere along the way, we confused measurable tools with knowing how to win baseball games.
I’m not against analytics or hitting the ball hard, but there is an art to winning that you can’t fully measure. We need more guys who know how to play baseball, not just hitters, not just athletes, ballplayers. And I promise you, those dudes never go out of style

Really disappointing watching the Braves versus Dodgers game right now. Braves are down 2–1 in The Series and Ozzie Albies hits a ball to the fence which hits the wall and gets past the left fielder. Albies thinks it’s a home run and absolutely dogs it and gets a double out of it instead of a triple with no outs in a tie game in the sixth inning. Absolutely horrible effort and there’s no excuse. I really like him but there’s no excuse.
