"Clinical researchers need more time and funding for research" As Academic Vice President for Royal College of Physicians I discussed the @RCPhysicians view with Allison Gardner MP (Science Innovation and Technology Select Committee @AllisonCGardner, @CommonsSITC ) using the work of The Pandemic I Institute @ThePandemicInst as an example. She raised the issue next day in @HouseofCommons debate on pandemic preparedness, where @PatMcfaddenMP Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster @cabinetofficeuk agreed on the value of research. With @AoMRC are pressing @NHSEngland and @DHSCgovuk to support clinical academic careers, and ensure time for research in NHS job plans and resident doctor @RCP_RDC training
