Preparing snacks bags and other donations for @horizonhousein for our day on. Humbled by my eldest insisting on spending her own money to add to what we were collecting.

Cried hard recounting to my eldest *why* the post-Katrina response sickened me, but got me off the couch to go help rebuild, and *why* it now motivates us to serve in Mexico annually. I wish it hadn’t taken the events of this week to show those feelings to her. Still growing.

The irony of reaching my stand goal while walking to the fridge for ice cream is not lost on me.

Thanks to you and the other co-organizers as well, particular shout out to Sadaf Alam @cscsch for pushing this internally as well as Winona Snapp-Childs from @iu_pti in keeping things organized in the final hours. Looking forward to doing it again at @ISChpc next year!
