Co-workers managed to compile VASP so it runs 33% slower than the module I already had, and now I have to fix it.

This weekend, I double-headed re-watch of SamFlam with Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider. SamFlam holds up. Tojima, not so much: lot of wasted potential spent, frittered into a series of B-plots that do not really go anywhere, and writers refuse to resolve any character arcs.
I need a neurologist with a blackbelt to kick me in the head just right so I could watch Samurai Flamenco for the first time again.

Tojima in particular is a dumb MC and does not really grow. With a show with a stupid protagonist, this is something you can deal with if the remaining cast are allowed to have arcs, but sadly, the rest of the cast are also dull.

Rick Ross was actually talking about this Internet hypothetical on his 2007 feature with Birdman. I understand everything now.
Replying to @qsdnl @muttmoding
and this is assuming from the "the microwave" phrasing it only counts one microwave at a time, BUT if you can do multiple microwaves you can scale that shit and start building a microwave farm

Today, w/ Andrew Ferguson's group at @UChiPritzker: we're able to simulate entire enzyme systems with explicit solvent (O(100k) atoms) at near-quantum accuracy, matching real experimental measurements for enzyme activity. ~1,000x faster than SOTA QM/MM.

If you use cylindrical coordinates, define two operators, and integrate N.S. by r twice, you still get the Hagen-Poiseuille equation for flow, which means N.S. is a useful map of the territory, whether or not actual flows are continuous, consistent, or biunivocal.

Similarly, because EVERYTHING IS COMPUTER, we reason about these problems as if we have some infinite, complete and ordered field to pull numbers from, but we're really dealing with finite and discrete approximators which do not have infinitesimals.

Bro, just use the passkey. It’s in the magic link. It’s in your authenticator app. We sent you a code. It’s 2FA with your phone and yubikey. It’s face id. It’s sign in with SSO. Just enable touch id. Do you want to stay signed in? (we’ll log you out anyways)

A pastiche of Hemingway's "Snows of Kilimanjaro" where an otaku passes out in the line to Comiket (because he's malnourished and tired) and as they carry him on a stretcher to the on-site medical triage, he passes the tables and booths he had expected to buy from.

Thankfully, the Party articulated a Scientific Computing Outlook on Development, which has resulted in improvements to the Free and Open Source, and resolutely carried forward the great cause of Linux with GNU characteristics while building a Moderately Useful Userspace.
