This and the passing at times are Kentucky’s biggest questions this season. I will say, Asia seems to have emerged as that fiery personality who demands the ball in big moments when Kentucky needs a point. What she did against Texas alone was… outstanding.

That’s a valid argument to make. Another year of experience for all those hitters and Kassie certainly helps. But your two main offensive weapons attacking from opposite pins is a huge part of that. Totally changes the way this team looks offensively, especially in transition.

That’s another reason I think it doesn’t happen. Trinity has a nasty float serve and the energy she plays with is contagious. She and Tuzz play so well together back there and in serve receive it’s hard to keep her off the floor.

And as we know, Wisconsin was literally impossible to defend last year, Cats just got really lucky to survive that Final Four game 😅

That’s the biggest reason my gut says Craig won’t do it when Morgan comes back. But if Asia can become a dime passer, it would make Kentucky nearly impossible to defend.

Craig got another (good) tough decision to make. If Asia is going to hit like this out of the back row, is there a world where you play her, BK, AND Morgan six rotations? Love what Trinity gives you in serve and pass and on defense. But my goodness.

Crazy thing is, I still think the offense didn’t have the best day. So much more room for this team to get even better. Excellent job all around.

Every time Asia did this today it felt like a must-have point. Just zero fear from her AND Kassie to set this ball and terminate in this situation. My goodness.

Asia Thigpen with her best match as a Wildcat: 15 kills on a blistering .303 clip. Georgia comes in off the bench in her first match as a full-time player in her career and gets nine kills on a .438 clip with four digs and two blocks. Are you kidding me?!?!

UNBELIEVABLE effort from this team against a team of Texas' caliber. Not only a Top 10 victory, but to do it without your second-leading kill earner and one of your best blockers in Morgan Gaerte is absurd.

Cari Spears sails it! Kentucky takes the third 25-21 and sweeps aside No. 7 Texas!!!

AND FLIES OUT OF THE BACK ROW FOR ANOTHER ONE! MY GOODNESS!!!

And she goes up against four hands AGAIN and gets a tool off the block. She just has zero fear.

Asia has been out of this world. And her attacking out of the back like this for the first time all season in a game of this caliber is insanity. Completely unafraid of that Texas block and using the hands against them.

Timeout Texas as the Cats rattle off a 5-0 run out of the media timeout to take a 18-15 lead!
