Expert diplomacy reinforces traditional diplomacy – Ukrainian Prism and @MFA_Ukraine have identified priorities for joint efforts Executive Director of Ukrainian Prism Hennadiy @HMaksak and Minister of Foreign Affairs @andrii_sybiha discussed how experts from Ukrainian and foreign think tanks can help Ukraine achieve its goals of fair and lasting peace, European integration, and mutually beneficial partnerships. We are grateful to the Minister for his full understanding of the tools of expert diplomacy and his support for possible synergies in our work. There are indeed many areas of action: 🔹 strengthening the European expert track from the position of the Ukrainian Prism office in Brussels; 🔹 Formation and institutionalisation of expert levels for official regional coalitions and initiatives created by Ukraine; 🔹 Synchronisation of efforts to draw the attention of non-Western countries (the Global South); 🔹 Countering Russian narratives and the hybrid activities of Moscow's satellite countries; 🔹 The potential use of Track 1.5 diplomacy to bring about sustainable and just peace. The openness and proactivity of the minister and his team in communicating with experts is an important signal for us of their readiness for real and effective cooperation.

Exploring the unknowns: security scenarios on Russian war in Ukraine for 2025-2026 Ukrainian Prism hosted the experts discussion in the margins of #NATOSummit in the Hague. Ukraine’s Resilience against the Russian invasion: lessons for the EU On the invitation of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, the team of the Ukrainian Prism delivered a presentation on #Ukraine's experiences in repelling Russian aggression The presentation and the following discussion were at the meeting of a joint meeting of the Ad hoc Working Party on #preparedness, #response capability, and #resilience to future crises (AHWP Resilience) and Integrated Political Crisis Response (IPCR) Mechanism working groups, which are chaired by the Polish Presidency in the first half of 2025. About 50 participants from member states and European Commission took part. @OChyzhova and @HMaksak shared their own experiences on: ✅ challenges to societal resilience during war, ✅the importance of the whole-of-society approach, ✅ good practices of the involvement of third and private sector in civic-military cooperation.

🇪🇺🇺🇦The EU's role in possible peace talks “Ukrainian Prism” continues to strengthen the Ukrainian expert voice in the EU capital and shape international initiatives in support of Ukraine. On March 26, “Ukrainian Prism” in partnership with the @epc_eu @SCEEUS_UI and @UA_EUMission held a busy day of expert events in Brussels, with various audiences - experts and diplomats, journalists and members of the @Europarl_EN ‼️ The main message: Europe must act quickly, clearly and decisively, because it is not only about the fate of Ukraine, but also about the fate of the entire continent. 🛡️ At a closed-door expert event with the participation of representatives of European institutions, permanent representations of member states to the EU, as well as think tanks, an attempt was made to dive deeply into the topic of the possible role of European partners and the EU in strengthening Ukraine's negotiating position. 📢 During the public policy dialogue, invited experts spoke about the urgency of EU decisions, forms of support for Ukraine, and the role of civil society. 🏛️ In the @Europarl_EN the discussion revolved around issues of public support in EU countries for political decisions that would help strengthen the common European voice in support of Ukraine and in confronting the Russian aggressor. Almost no one had any doubts that Europe should act autonomously, given the alarming signals from across the ocean. Although it is still too early to talk about specific practical solutions that the EU and major European capitals can offer, the discussion clearly demonstrated the need for constant involvement of the European side in brainstorming and expert discussions on ways to bring peace back to the continent. ❓🇪🇺 Якою є роль Європи у припиненні російсько-української війни? 🔹 24 лютого 2025 року в Брюсселі Рада зовнішньої політики “Українська призма” виступила партнером @epc_eu та @PISM_Poland в організації публічної експертної дискусії на тему: Припинення повномасштабного вторгнення Росії в Україну: Яка дипломатична та військова роль Європи? До участі були запрошені співробітники європейських інституцій, провідних ЗМІ, офіційні особи ЄС. ➡️ Ключовими питаннями цієї дискусії: ✅ Як посилити роль ЄС в підтримці України? ✅ Як досягти мирної угоди, яка не посилить Кремль? ✅ Як буде підтримуватися можливе припинення вогню? ✅ Які гарантії безпеки, включаючи миротворчі сили, може запропонувати Україні ЄС? ✅ Які перспективи членства України в НАТО? ✅ Як забезпечити правосуддя для України за масштабні військові злочини, скоєні Росією? @HMaksak, виконавчий директор Української призми, виступаючи перед аудиторією, наголосив на важливій ролі ЄС у підтримці України. Зокрема, у 2024 році в ЄС забезпечив найбільший обсяг зовнішньої підтримки до державного бюджету понад 16 млрд євро, що склало 40% від загального обсягу допомоги з боку західних партнерів. В сфері військової та безпекової співпраці, ЄС та держави-члени продовжували бути лідерами у підтримці України. Були підписані Спільні безпекові зобов’язання між Україною та Європейським Союзом, що передбачають всеосяжну підтримку України з боку ЄС та держав-членів. ➡️ Лише за минуловий рік в рамках Місії ЄС з військової допомоги Україні близько 32 тис. українських військовослужбовців. На кінець 2024 забезпечено реалізацію ініціативи ЄС щодо надання Україні 1 млн артилерійських боєприпасів. Також ЄС дозволив спрямовувати надприбутки від заморожених активів РФ на оборонні потреби України через Європейський фонд миру.
