Keeping up skills in the bridge simulator!
Lots of opportunites for the bridge team to practise many different and complex serials as we train towards returning to sea!
🚢⚓️
You might expect a son joining the same ship as his father would mean a fresh faced and newly minted sailor... but not in our case!
When you've been in for 39 years your son can join as a grizzled Petty Officer instead!

@HMSDaring hasn't heard this over main broadcast for quite some time...
'Do you hear there. No smoking, no naked lights, fuelling Ship.' ⛽️
Swapped our steel 'cave' for the real thing!
For our more intrepid members of the Ship's Company, a few days underground caving in the Mendip Hills. All developing skills and experiences.

It's over a decade since ACM Sir Rich Knighton last visited the Ship in his then capacity as Station Commander of @RAF_Wittering.
This time he stopped by as @UKCDS_MOD to check our progress! 🛠🚢
Don't leave it so long next time, Sir!

Last weekend we proudly paraded the streets of our affiliated city, Leicester, for Armed Forces Day.
We toured @LeicesterTigers and @LCFC grounds. The teams have definitely gained some fans in the ships company.

Cdr Graeme Hazelwood RN has handed over to Cdr Andrew Platt RN as CO.
We all wish Cdr Hazelwood the best for the future, and thank him for his efforts.
We now look forward to Cdr Platt leading us into the next chapter.

A longstanding affiliation, it's been a privilege and an honour to send a marching platoon to represent the ship at Guernsey's Liberation Day, celebrating 81 years of liberation from Nazi occupation.
A new chapter begins for the First of Class!
HMS DARING is now under care and protection of the Royal Navy.

Yesterday The Countess of Wessex visited RAF Wittering to cheer on the teams taking part in the annual Countess of Wessex Cup 🏆
The tournament sees HRH’s military regiments and associations come together to compete in a series of challenges 💪🥽🕹
HRH The Countess of Wessex, Lady Sponsor of HMS Daring, donned overalls and ventured into engine spaces, recognising the combined efforts of @RN_engineers and @BAES_Maritime in delivering upgrades and enhancements during refit.
After a year in dry dock HMS Daring floats once more thanks to @RN_engineers and @BAES_Maritime. Next stop is PIP @CammellLaird.
Last week the crew of HMS Daring who braved ‘missile alley’ were singled out at this year’s #Millies.
