A golden retriever ran across a Nebraska yard and barked at a cop car. That was enough for the officer to pull into the driveway, draw his taser, and hit the warning sound on a family dog. 🐕 Police say the dog kept coming toward the passenger side, barking and growling, so the officer had to protect himself. The owner says her golden is friendly, wagged its tail the whole time, and even listened when he told it to stay back. No probes flew. The dog never got shocked. The department still calls it a smart precaution. Watch the clip. That is not a charging attack dog. That is a golden doing what goldens do when a stranger rolls up to the house. If an officer feels the need to spark a taser at that, the problem is not the retriever. We train these dogs to alert. We do not train them to get treated like a threat for existing in their own yard.
