They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them. #LestWeForget
Learning to share & understand different cultures can play a role in reducing reoffending as it builds a stronger sense of society. #BlackHistoryMonth gives prisoners a chance to understand Black history through educational events such as open discussions, & historical accounts.

Vital work from HMPPS & @Shannon_Trust, helping prisoners learn to read by training them to teach each other in a peer-led scheme.
This helps prisoners develop the skills they need to contribute positively to society after release.

Due to the road closure in Newton Abbot town centre, we are experiencing high volumes of traffic in the country lanes around the prison area. Please allow extra travel time if you are visiting the establishment as the official diversion takes you towards Paignton and then Totnes.
Maintaining family ties is crucial for reducing reoffending. On a recent Family Day, we created a family wall on the entrance of our visits hall for children and their dad’s to put their hand prints. This helps to give them a talking point each time they come for a visit.
If you are visiting anyone at Channings Wood from 22nd July, the road in Newton Abbot from Asda to Bakers Park will be closed for 3 weeks by Teignbridge Council. The official diversion takes you through Paignton and Totnes with an average additional travel time of 40 minutes.

Last week, we hosted our annual Christmas Family event, as we know how important it is to maintain and strengthen family ties, especially at this time of year. The event was supported by @prisonadvice, and the presents for children were donated by the @salvationarmy. Thank you!
