Thoughts & prayers for families who've lost loved ones today in #KabulBlast and support to all those on the frontline fighting #ISIS_K and Taliban rule. This is sadly a terrorist resurgence that will impact far beyond #Afghanistan. Urgent need for concerted international strategy

The first in a thought-provoking series of articles by @HFeront, Head of the Countering Violent Extremism Unit in #Brussels exploring the often thorny question of terrorist disengagement strongcitiesnetwork.org/en/g…
Important issue & informative introduction to it. I would add the need for cooperation with game developers and operators. How about more PCVE practitioners/games developers exchanges on those practices? Private companies have a responsibility and role to play.

Interesting article showing how a non-violent social mobilization by highly conservative Muslim parents against #caricatures of the Prophet rapidly spun out of control via #socialnetworks leading to the murder of #SamuelPatty by a young follower of #ISIS.

Concise and useful sum up of the institutional and political opportunities for resolving the current on #RuleOfLaw crisis triggered by #Hungary and #Poland 's veto on the #EU 's coronavirus recovery deal
I put in my two cents on @euobs how the #EU can exit the Hungarian-Polish hostage drama and avoid a deep institutional crisis. #RuleOfLaw #MFF #NextGenerationEU #Hungary #Poland @gmfus @Verfassungsblog @EU2020DE @DutchMFA @VisegradInsight @reconstitutEU euobserver.com/opinion/15009…

Agreed. The #EUPresidency should be very careful about the way they go about resolving this #crisis. Otherwise, it'll just further undermine the #ruleoflaw throughout the EU and the credibility of the #EU itself. A line must be drawn, the time is now.
Replying to @DanielHegedus82
+2 The crisis is the undeniable, logic consequence of ten years of EU politics that underplayed and failed to properly address the threat posed by autocratizing member states and always gave priority to challenges other than the protection of democracy and rule of law.

Detailed and insightful critique of the EU's approach to stability in the Sahel. It illustrates well the need for a structural reform of EU external policy-making in strategic hotspots to create coherence between diplomatic, security, state-building and development policies.
The #Sahel represents an ever more strategic priority for the #EU. In view of the revision of the Sahel Strategy, what should the European Union learn from its failures? Outstanding analysis by @annateesch @GuillaumeMayor @delinagoxho @ispionline ispionline.it/it/pubblicazio…
