along with Head of the Port Authority, Mr Ozzie Timmons. Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency has worked with the Port of Halifax for many decades in training as well as public displays to promote #fireprevention.
As #FirePreventionWeek is upon us again, we thought we'd take the opportunity to introduce you to some of our past engagements with the City of Halifax and its people.

Halifax Fire's 1919 American LaFrance aerial in the first West St station. Note the tray ceiling, exactly the same as the current ceiling in #HfxStation2 today. Both stations were designed by Halifax Firefighter William Fidler.
William wore many hats, including that of an architect, but was best known as an Engineer on Chemical 2 in his final years with Halifax Fire.

Do you have family or close friends that once served with the Halifax Fire Department or even before that with the Union Engine Company, Union Protection Company or any of the many fire related services that operated on behalf of the Insuring Companies in Halifax?
We want to talk to you!
Documents, photos, scrapbooks, artifacts and even stories passed down are all important to us. We are constantly digging to find, document and preserve our history. Your help is necessary to keep this
information available for generations to come and not let it become lost forever.

September 11, 2001 - We Remember. 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years later, the images of that day remain etched into our memories.
On September 11, 2001, the world watched in horror as unimaginable tragedy unfolded. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives -
Today, the Halifax Fire Historical Society remembers those who never came home.
We remember their families, their colleagues and the countless first responders whose lives were forever changed.
And we remember the extraordinary courage shown in the face of unimaginable circumstances.
We will never forget.
Remember the fallen. Honour the brave. Never forget.
